Re: Sync radio audio broadcast with television video broadca

On Windows machines I've had, "Audio to Buffer" delays playback but not doesn't delay recording. Audio to Buffer doesn't delay playback when software playthrough is enabled, even if you are playing but not recording. Audacity uses a pre-determined buffer setting when software playthrough i...

Re: change dither to none? in quality settings?

16-, 24- and 32-bit are bit depths. Bit rates for uncompressed files are worked out by multiplying bit depth * number of channels * sample rate. That makes a stereo 16-bit file to be 1411 kbps bit rate. This table lists the bit depths Audacity imports WAV files at: Default Sample Format File bit dep...

Re: arrows don't work!

Only play and stop. It does have Play/Stop and Set Cursor though (SHIFT + A shortcut). I suspect the arrow keys do work but they behave differently according to whether you are playing audio or have pressed the yellow Stop button. The arrow keys do not work when paused (blue button). There are lots...

Re: cannot record with focusrite external soundcard need hel

when I take the recording cables off the mixer the red cursor is still there in audacity It seems that you are just recording low level noise. Try configuring Scarlett to send some audio to Audacity, or if you think you are doing that, use Windows Sound to make Scarlett default recording device the...

Re: Recording on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Okay, I selected overdub, but it wouldn't let me record a second track. After messing around a bit, I change the audio output and everything worked great. Thanks If possible it's best to use the same device for recording and playback (such as USB audio card or built-in sound card), not one device f...

Re: Recording on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Okay so I can record another track but I can't listen to my other tracks while recording, is that even possible? To listen to other pre-existing tracks while recording, enable Transport > Overdub. Was Software Playthrough the problem? That sends a delayed copy of what you are recording to the outpu...

Why not put it back? There are only five controls at the moment. There is a lot of text on its description page on Wiki so there is no guarantee people would see how to enable it.

Re: Can't edit. Have pressed yellow stop button many times.

After I click on Edit I was clicking on Labeled Audio. But now I realize I should have clicked on Edit and then on Remove Audio or Labels, and then click on Delete. Is that correct? Thanks. Yes, or press DELETE on your keyboard. The Labeled Audio commands are only active if you have a label track a...

Re: how to record a phone interview in 2 tracks?

I saw:
I want the caller on left channel and the local voice on right channel (or vice-versa) of a single 2-channel audio file.
Hence my suggestion, assuming the input/output are as you identified. Or do you mean you are recording the podcast with two mics?
