Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute

Why not put it back? Since you ask.... because then I would need to rewrite the help screen, which is already close to the maximum size for an 800 x 600 display, and I'm tired of working around the limitations for displaying help in plug-ins Not an insurmountable reason, as you go on to prove ;) - ...

Re: audacity 2.0.3 & flac 1.3.0

when there is a new version of a codec avaiable, you only have to exchange the exe and youre fine. What happens if the command line switches change between codec versions? Then you have to take it into account. But that won't happen often for common parameters that would be expected in an interface...

Re: audacity 2.0.3 & flac 1.3.0

If the path is used and the path contains any spaces it must be quoted, for example: "/usr/bin/flac" (on Linux, the quotes are not essential unless the path includes spaces, but it is good practice to include the quotes). Quoting doesn't seem to be essential on Windows 7 when the path inc...

Re: audacity 2.0.3 & flac 1.3.0

i was thinking of foobar, which would ask you only one time for the location of a codec and has preconfigured parameters. when there is a new version of a codec avaiable, you only have to exchange the exe and youre fine. Yes and I see there is a progress bar on the file "conversion". I ca...

Re: Is my notebook quick enough to support thes audio interf

Is it Windows 7 Starter? If not, the computer doesn't strictly meet Windows or Audacity minimum requirements http://audacityteam.org/download/windows#sysreq .

Why do you need the interface? Have you read the system requirements of those interfaces?

Re: audacity 2.0.3 & flac 1.3.0

ps: is there reasons for hardcoding codecs in audacity by default? 1) In most cases the encoding is quicker when hard coded rather than piping. That's somewhat true but nonetheless providing an interface for common command-line encoders/decoders so that users could choose the exact version of the e...

Re: audacity 2.0.3 & flac 1.3.0

could you help me with the parameters, this is what i entered in the command box but it doesnt work. The first part of the command needs to be the "command" (as if you were using it as a command line program), not the file name. So it should be something like: flac - -o "%f" I'm...

Re: Getting Audacity to open after downloading

In attempting to download Audacity I ended up with finding it running as an Application - which I only discovered when I tried to open it on the desktop of my Mac 10.6.8 via a zip for a second time. I then transferred this Application to Trash and downloaded Audacity again via audacity-macosx-ub-2-...
