Re: Audacity 2.0.4 Release Candidate 1 (zip and installer)
there's another WASAPI related issue: - Create a tone (I've created a 1000 Hz. Risset Drum) - Output: WDS - set Audio buffer to 100 - Select a small region at the beginning (5000 samples) - play the selection (should be fine) - Change to WASAPI - play the region On my system, it plays the selection...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
Y'know, it occurred to me while reading Gale's test report that Pop Mute might be easier for most people to use if Threshold were in linear units (f.s. = 1) rather than in dB. I've been mentally approximating dB from the ordinate scale probably since the week Pop Mute was first released and I'm pre...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
I am not sure I would mention fade. Most users will never zoom in to see it (or play with tones to see it). How would you describe the rate at which the gate opens and shuts? I think users with dim or non-existent knowledge of what a fade is might be puzzled at Look ahead: The length of the fade be...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
Pop Mute is intended to reduce clicks and pops. It 'looks ahead' for peaks in the waveform and fades down the audio so that the peak will be at a lower level. After the peak has passed, the audio fades back up to the original level. My 2p's. I think we need a Wiki page accessed by one of your Help ...

Intel Celeron CPU 550 @ 2.00 Ghz (just one processor) That's OK for Windows 7 Ultimate, so should mean (given your other specifications) that you can use either interface on your computer. (You wrote "550 Ghz" before, and since no consumer-available processor is 550 GHz, I assumed you mea...

Re: Append Import
I've little doubt that a dedicated C++ Append Import with a file browser and customisations for "import first file at the cursor" and "methods to demarcate the joins" is the best way to go. Perhaps, though it probably depends on the user case, but I doubt that is going to happen...

I don't know but it would be very related to the capabilities of the PortAudio library we use for Audio I/O. I can add your vote for such a feature in Audacity. Gale You definitely can add my vote for such a feature in Audacity. OK it will be added. DirecTv and Dish network DVR satellite receivers ...

Re: Append Import
Perhaps a better option would be a development of the (new) "Align End to End" feature (Tracks menu in Audacity 2.0.4). Something that I had this mind while developing "Align End to End" was another function that behaves similarly to Align End to End, but moves all of the audio ...

Re: Append Import
A feature request has been made for Append Import - a way to mark the joins between the imported files.
It was suggested to insert silence at the joins but you could also label the joins or add split lines there (or perhaps only the C++ version could do that)...
