Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
Question 1: If I bought a "new" iPod Classic today which would be identical to my "old" iPod Classic what would you call my iPod? http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/ Perhaps it was sixth generation if you bought it from Apple. Here is the word from the horse's mouth: http://suppor...

Re: Stereo mix detecting sound from wrong device
Gah, I'm using a USB one because I'm having trouble connecting to the sound card for some reason. Whenever I plug it into the jack it doesn't detect it, unfortunately I have no more information about that problem in specific. Have you tried loopback recording from the USB speakers in Audacity 2.0.4...

Re: Ekstreme slow startup of audicity 2.04
It takes me a minute or so to start up audicity 2.04. After start it gives a note that it want to change something. I say ok. Then it takes app. a minute before the window show up. If you saw the "Install VST Effects" dialogue and you chose to install many effects then this may take a whi...

Re: Audacity 2.0.4 fails to launch on XP
In the process of attempting to resolve the "Audacity 2.0.4 on XP" problem I ended up creating a lot of sub-directories. This led to some confusion on my part. I located the folder that contained the variant of audacity.exe that worked and pruned away all the non-working variants. I delet...

Re: Audacity 2.0.4 still crashes
Thanks for testing. Several people (except for one) have said that 1.3.11 consistently crashes (but 1.3.10 doesn't) when importing files that have accented characters in the filename or folder path. It could be you will have to repeat your experiment in 1.3.11 a few times. This is an intermittent bu...

Re: MS ADPCM Conversion causing major distortion
So if you read http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 47&t=74115, did you follow the solution there (install SoX then use it as an external encoder in Audacity)?

Re: Audacity 2.0.4 still crashes
I downloaded 1.3.10 [...] with this version at least, the Command-f addition does not seem to make any difference, no matter where it is located (program folder, file folder, or both). I even opened wav files whose titles were long strings (20+ characters) of mixed letters, numbers, spaces, and hyp...

Re: V2.0.4 Sample Format Mismatch
Also WASAPI loopback recording is apparently limited to 44100 Hz sample rate. If you choose some other project rate, Audacity resamples it and this will probably cause break up of the stream.

Re: V2.0.4 Sample Format Mismatch
Before we spend too much time on this, is 2.0.3 any different http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-win-2.0.3.zip ? Is the objective to measure what has been recorded? As you know MME and WDS do not record at more than 16-bit due to PortAudio limitations. Results vary but the consensus was t...

Re: Crash of 2.0.3 upon launch in Win XP
I still have not located any newer drivers for the Creative sound card than I reported above. Meanwhile, my experience has been that the newer versions of Audacity (2.0, 2.0.3, 2.0.4, and even 1.3.14) all crash upon launch on my old Dell PC. I did a reversion to version 1.2.6, and it continues to w...
