Re: WRONG USE OF CONTROL + B

What is the procedure/code to install Audacity 2.04 over my existing 2.03 version ? Is it correct to assume that the existing Lame and FFmppeg programs are not affected ? You can install 2.0.4 over the top of 2.0.3 - and no need to upgrade LAME or FFmpeg. Please see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/...

Re: Sample bitdepth is 24, but audacity says 32

I am new in this forum and I wanted to thank the developers of Audacity for this great tool. Unfortunately I will beginn my forum-activity with a question (or even maybe a "bugreport"?) ... I have a 24 bit Wave File. I exported this file with my musicsoftware FL Studio and set the bitdept...

Re: Audacity crashes upon opening/importing MP3.

Thank you for having an interest in helping me, Gale. As much as I wish I understood, I do not understand much of the information given to me in the first link you sent. As well, the second link does not work. You should also be able to get the alpha test build by visiting http://gaclrecords.org.uk...

Re: Seperate volumes for Stereo Mix input and output

Why is the Kontakt output so poor then? If only the recording of Kontakt is poor perhaps you are trying to record it from the internal mic instead of stereo mix? See here for how to record computer playback http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html . G...

Re: Problème d'ouverture d'une musique

You should not have moved the AUP file or the _data folder or the AU files inside it. ;) I told you how the structure should work. After opening the project, choose Help > Show Log... . In the log, click Log (top left) then Save... . Attach the log file here. Please see here for how to attach files:...

Re: Audacity 2.0.4 does not lauch on Windows XP sp 3

I had to replace my recording PC and downloaded 2.04 at first. I got this message "The application has failed to start because application configuration is incorrect." So I uninstalled it and tried 2.03, same message. So I uninstalled that and used a zipped copy of 1.3.14 that I have save...

Re: Computer Crashes

Thank you for your help. WhoCrashed suggested a couple of drivers that might be causing my problem. I will see about getting updated drivers. But if that doesn't work, I'll be SOL I guess. Too bad there are no converters that can convert Audacity files... Are you sure 2.0.3 is crashing? Hover your ...

Re: Audacity 2.0.3 Can't figure out "sample data export" fea

It's not only the crash risk. Many programs won't open text files that are many MB's in size. If you reduce the sample rate there will be fewer samples which means you will lose the high frequencies. The song will sound "dull" at sample rates below the default 44100 Hz. If that's what you ...

Re: Audacity crashes upon opening/importing MP3.

You're not doing anything wrong, assuming you have Audacity 2.0.4 (look at Audacity > About Audacity for the version). It's a problem associated with accented characters in file and folder names and the way that Audacity records your system language. Please see the top item here: http://wiki.audacit...

Re: Recovering a project from .autosave file

Autosave files should not be in the Audacity temporary folder. Please see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html#autosave . It is not recommended to open temporary files. If you quit Audacity normally after Automatic Crash Recovery (either saving the changes or not doing so) the...
