Re: .aup file type conflict
Windows: XP Trying to use the latest Audacity What is the three-section version number from Help > About Audacity? I use a video editor which uses .aup as its file type for its work files. Which video editor is that? When I try to install the latest Audacity, it "claims" all my Video Edit...

Re: USB Codec Problem
The "Registry Error" is not coming from Audacity so it is almost certainly coming from a plug-in. Make sure Audacity is quit (Audacity > Quit Audacity) then replace the entire contents of audacity.cfg with this: NewPrefsInitialized=1 [AudioUnits] Enable=0 GUI=0 [VST] Enable=0 GUI=0 Rescan=...

Re: Chains - Remove last X seconds before export
Download TrimExtend.ny . To install TrimExtend, put it into the Plug-Ins folder inside the Audacity installation folder, then restart Audacity. TrimExtend will now be in the Chains command list. In the Trim Extend parameters, choose "Seconds" and enter "-0.1" (without quotes) in ...

Re: How to add 1 second of silence to the end of multiple tr
Do you accept that if the tracks are all different lengths before you add the silence, they will still be different lengths after adding the silence? If so the best way is to click in each track, press K on the keyboard to move to the end of that track, then generate 1 second of silence. That silenc...

Re: 2.0.4 Problem
The first time I tried downloading the Audacity 2.0.4 updates, atr the end of the download I tried launching Audacity and got the "blue screen." I managed to delete that download using the "manage programs" function from the control panel. I tried the download a second time, but...

Re: Problème d'ouverture d'une musique
If you chose to permanently silence the missing audio it cannot be undone unless you have backup copies of the previous AU files.

Re: silence prefixed to exported mp3
A bit off-topic, but I am also suffering from the file-open crash problem (on about 1 out of every 3 to 5 MP3s I open). I have found that if I just try a second time to open the file it nearly always works, so no big deal until now, unfortunately -- it seems that I cannot reopen any of the WAV file...

Also I'd be interested in knowing the needs of the user group you are catering for and which menu items you are hiding.
