Re: .aup file type conflict
As you suggested in your first reply, further investigation reveals that first explicitly associating aviutl aup files with aviutl, then install Audacity. aviutl aup files were not taken over by Audacity. When editing audio files e.g mp3 files and saving it, the aup file is associated with aviutl. ...

Re: Seperate volumes for Stereo Mix input and output
Well, there may be some reason stereo mix is poor quality - perhaps you do not have the correct drivers for the device I'm 'afraid' my drivers are fine and up to date. I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 that uses an ALC887 soundcard. I've downloaded the latest driver here: http://www.realtek.cz/realtek-...

Re: .aup file type conflict
Can you get that features (a prompt at installation time) back for the next release? I doubt it. The prompt was removed because our users sometimes removed the AUP association in error. Aviutil seems to be a hard-to-set-up program (if you want it in English) that is relatively little known. So I wo...

Re: USB Codec Problem
I think it may be Audio Unit AUMatrixReverb. I noticed that it didn't work in r1257, no error message, looked like it worked but nothing changed. Never got the Registry Error in r1257 either. But in 2.0.4 unchecking Audio Units got rid of the Registry Error. I am not quite clear what happened when ...

Re: How do I get audacity to use the time shift when exporti
Audacity won't export audio before time zero with straight Export or Export Selection. But video sync is another case where you may actually want to export audio behind zero. I've had the problem Koz mentioned myself when editing audio for a video. I couldn't export before zero so I timeshifted to s...

Re: Seperate volumes for Stereo Mix input and output
Thank you very much! I've gone countless of times through all of the settings you mentioned, but until now I probably hadn't had them all looking in the right direction. :D So do you now have both "Exclusive Mode" boxes checked? There's still one small catch though: I use the ASIO4ALL in ...

Re: windows 8 with no sound card
It must have a built-in sound device and video device, though the built-in sound device may not allow you to record streaming audio. If you use Audacity 2.0.4, you can select Windows WASAPI host in the first box of Device Toolbar then the (loopback) input in the third box. Choose the loopback input ...

Re: USB Codec Problem
I added the audacity.cfg file and audacity folder to /Library/Applications Support. It didn't change a thing It wouldn't do - audacity.cfg goes in your home Library, that is ~/Library/Application Support/audacity. I unchecked all of the plug-ins in preferences and re-started Audacity. Didn't get th...
