Could this for example let Audacity record both sides of a Skype conversation plus a music source, where someone was having a call on Skype and playing the music to the other party?

Re: The Device Toolbar
Hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question... 99% of the time I'm using audacity (so pretty much all the time) the listed device in the first box is MME. but atleast prior to downloading the newest version of audacity there was another option: Windows DirectSound. Please look in Help > About Audac...

Re: Track numbers in WAV metadata?
"I use dBPowerAmp" OH! It wasn't at all clear that you use it to edit WAV tags, you just said "tags". Thanks, I'll have to try that. I did say "It reads LIST INFO and ID3 in WAV files". I like it because it gives you an info popup of file type information and metadata ...

Re: audacity r12609 2.0.5a 27-sep-13 test report
Thanks for testing, KeyserS. So it seems that WDM-KS makes two analog output devices where MME and Windows DirectSound only see one (in Audio Device Info). Does Device Toolbar show two analogue outputs when you choose MME host? Also WDM-KS has no analog input comparable to device 1 (MME Realtek HD A...

Re: Track numbers in WAV metadata?
It has been a year probably since I went looking for a WAV file tag editor, and at that time nothing (nothing) would do it I've mentioned one free app that will. It's free if you don't want to encode MP3's with it. You can edit WAV metadata in Windows Media Player Library. Select the file in the Li...

Re: Compiling mac Audacity 2.0.4+ (current HEAD)
Hi Lasse,
Although I compile Audacity on Mac I am not an expert, and I suspect most others here also.
The 10.5 SDK could be the problem. Is this an Apple Mac machine?
Are you following http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Building_On_Mac ?

Re: Trouble opening a file
Not only do you need the _data folder, but if your friend was importing WAV files without copying them into the project, you need to ask him/her to give you a new AUP file and _data folder with the files copied in using File > Check Dependencies... . Re: playback good, recording bad
Have you tried tightening the USB cable at both ends, and tightening the headshell if it's separate from the tone arm?
Or tried a new USB cable?

Re: Crackles
Just to add that, unless you explicitly changed it, Windows 7 defrags automatically in the background according to a schedule (usually in the early hours of the morning, but if the computer is busy or turned off at scheduled defrag, Windows tries at other times when the computer is idle). So defrag ...

Excellent. Did not remember that, despite working on its Wiki page.
