Re: Managing Focusrite Scarlett Plug-ins
Thanks, Jim. Audacity scans at each launch for Audio Units in the following locations: ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components So for Audio Units you'll need to clear the non-working duplicates out of those folders. For VST's, choose Audacity > Preferences, click Effec...

Re: Trouble Exporting aup file to mp3
Yeah sure its an aup file that was saved to my documents file. So I click to open up said file in Audacity, I then chose export from the file menu. Box pops up save as New Mix then Where box I left as Audacity. If the "Where" box says "Audacity" then you may be running Audacity ...

Re: record vinyl to laptop
If sound quality is important, and the CD (or MP3) is available, and you don't mind the cost, you'll get better sound quality with a digital original. (No vinyl noise, lower distortion, flat frequency response.) Not everyone actually believes that makes it more enjoyable, of course. And less distor...

Re: Compiling mac Audacity 2.0.4+ (current HEAD)
Hi Lasse, You're right that Leland's "Building on Mac" is only obliquely linked to - though there is a prominent yellow div on http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Developing_On_Mac that points to Leland's page. The obliqueness is because no-one was sure how well Leland's instructions would w...

Re: audacity r12609 2.0.5a 27-sep-13 test report
Thanks - OK. That's more confirmation that WDM-KS doesn't see all the inputs.
If you want to, if you select WDM-KS host and the ATI HD Audio rear output in Audacity, does it play? If I recall, this was the output that was disabled in Foobar2000, wasn't it?

Re: Error installing Audacity 2.0.4 in Ubuntu 10.04
If you don't care about the WAV metadata you could also try reverting src/export/ExportPCM.cpp to r12243 ( http://code.google.com/p/audacity/source/detail?r=12243 ) that is, the version before the one where these changes were added. rm src/export/ExportPCM.cpp svn up -r 12243 src/export/ExportPCM.cp...

Re: Automatic sampling rate conversion lost in 2.04
I was using Audacity 2.03 on Windows XP, and then I installed Audacity 2.04 over it. I downloaded it from Sourceforge. But, yikes, I just followed your advice to check under Help/About Audacity for the version, and Surprise! It's showing me Audacity 1.3.14 Beta! I don't know how that took over If y...

Re: Having Trouble Opening Media
With reference to the numbers on the left, 22050 is not a "normal" sample rate. It's a special rate used by some sound recorders. Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Quality > Sampling > 44100, 16-bit > OK. See if your MP3 file opens now. You've got one over on me there, Koz. Has this scenari...
