Audacity system requirements for the 2.0 series are OS X 10.4 or later, though for those on 10.7 or later, 4 GB of RAM is strongly recommended. Can you say what the problems are? Try Edit > Undo "Studio Fade Out" then Effect > Normalize with only "Remove DC offset..." checked, then Effect > Studio Fade Out" again.
