Re: Suggestion: Repair Limits
The most intuitive way would probably be to have a "Repair Tool", i.e. a brush with the 128 sample-width. You simply click where the audio should be repaired. Then that goes back to doing a repair centred on the click point which seems sub-optimal compared to choosing the selection. It mi...

Re: Misleading behavior of Make Stereo Track
To my mind this is just making a simple thing complicated with only fringe benefits in a minuscule number of cases. I bet you it would stop the complaints though. Or of course you could make a patch for "Swap Channels" in the Drop-Down Menu. I think it could be useful on an unsplit stereo...

Re: Crackling audio playback - multiple formats and volume l
We do have a few reports of "choppy" or "stuttering" playback in 2.0.4 on OS X , but the problem is not reproducible on any of our machines. So I hope you won't mind a few questions. What application produced the problem files? Are you using Soundflower? If you import audio into ...

Re: Cannot record computer playback
Split to a new topic with title relevant to what you are asking. Set up Audacity 2.0.4 using Windows 8 Pro on a home desktop that is Gateway FX 4710 PC. Q: - When listening to music sounds online, i tend to record these using Audacity previously with sheer success! Now, i just cannot record these an...

Re: Misleading behavior of Make Stereo Track
it does what it does now, because there is no choice but to reverse one of the channels. I've just described what I think is the more logical "choice" if we say that "Make Stereo Track" takes account of the channel allocation. :? I agree with your criticism of that - it's too li...

Re: Suggestion: Repair Limits
there was a suggestion that larger sections could be repaired as a sequence of 128 sample length blocks. Initial tests indicated that this might work, but as yet it has not progressed much more than that. My money is that is where the effort needs to be directed. I suspect an algorithm could be sma...

Re: Misleading behavior of Make Stereo Track
If "Make Stereo Track" takes account of the channel allocation of the two mono tracks, then how should it behave if both tracks are set to "Left Channel"? The logical behaviour would surely be to create a stereo track containing a mix of both mono tracks in the left channel and ...

Re: Export Multiple: Hide Metadata Editor after first file.
@Gale: it's not getting rid of the "Export" word that Ed and I are voting for here - it's getting rid of the "Save" word in the "Export" dialog. I know that perfectly well ;) And I would still say you are still saving the exported file. So I'm with Koz on this. No expo...

Re: HELP please, No sound when exporting
I got it! Went to "Preferences" in Audacity and changed Playback to "Microsoft Sound Mapper". I'll try to edit some files now :D For those who connected a USB microphone or other USB recording device, it is better to set Audacity to the actual named speakers or headphones playba...

Re: EDIT/PREFERENCES/RECORDING/OK PER PROJECT
The Audacity 2,0.4 that I have records without any obvious problems. It will be interesting to see if it will support WAV files with "Album Title" etc. Please see http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/WAV#Metadata for details of what metadata Audacity 2.0.4 and later support for the WAV forma...
