Re: Multiple export without changing metadata
I wanted to know if it was possible to export mp3 files (multiple export) without changing metadata. Let me explain, when I do Multiple export, automatically, in the "Artist name" ends the artist's name last loaded audio file and instead in the field "Title Track" everything end...

Re: Audacity won't open
There is no debug report window because audacity won't open. There is a known case (now fixed for next release) that if you set Meter Refresh to zero, Audacity won't launch precisely because it crashes with a Debug report. I've tried the instructions in the link and they do not help. You need to tr...

Re: Apply Chain
A possible "feature request" to work round this problem could be to add another Preference setting: |---Sampling-------------------------------------- | Default sample rate: [ 44100 Hz ] [ 44100 ] | Allow first import to override default sample rate [ x ] | Default sample format [ 32-bit ...

Re: Audacity won't open
Please try http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#launch . You should not disable your security software unless you disconnect the internet. Do you see a "Debug Report" window when you launch Audacity? If so, please save a ZIP report file using that window an...

Re: Assertion failed1
Just to be clear, 2.1.3 won't have the assertion error using Audacity's Metadata Editor, but our actual support for tags will be unchanged. Audacity already writes the "Artist" tag in WAV files, once as LIST INFO (IART) and once as ID3 ( TPE1 ). Yes MP3 is a lossy file format, and WAV is l...

Re: traveling mic level
Yes, this is the meteor mic. Everything was going good until now. I don't have any other open apps going when I record and I don't use skype. It just started doing this on its own and its bugging the heck out of me. (Thanks for the tip on cold booting by the way, works great) :) I assume you alread...

Re: Pro Tools Files - Export to What File Format? Newbie!
WAV, 44100, 16-bit, Stereo is the format of the music on a CD. It's "perfect," but it's not the best for post production because it was chosen to be the most efficient method to cram as much music as possible on a silvery, spinning disk. That's not a dreadful way to go, but from here it g...

Re: Pro Tools Files - Export to What File Format? Newbie!
Each song (jazz tunes) is 5-8 minutes. Possible 12 tracks to load, more with overdubbing. Do I have enough memory on my PC at 8GB?? As Doug suggested RAM is not the only consideration. RAM is not used in current Audacity for storing audio data (it used to be an option in much older Audacity). Some ...

Re: Pro Tools Files - Export to What File Format? Newbie!
It's called AIFF on Mac. It's uncompressed, similar to WAV in file size. WAV and AIFF are 10 MB per minute assuming stereo 44100 Hz 16-bit. You can export FLAC from Audacity on Mac, if you can persuade your friend to install Audacity. FLAC is about 60% of the size of WAV or AIFF. There are no other ...
