Re: Deleting the preferences file for audacity on the mac
@johnythehess: the 2.5 is not a beta, but a "release candidate" version that would be officially released as version 2.5 if it passes testing. In this case there will be a second release candidate but you can get whichever is the current release candidate when you visit http://forum.audaci...

Re: Changing track background color (NO THEMES!)
I opted for the second solution and, guess what? It works! I didn't even need to install the 1.3 version. It works straight with the 2.0 program. I downloaded a theme from the "jesus" website and followed the instructions! Nothing more. Do you mean http://jcsu.jesus.cam.ac.uk/~hdc21/desig...

Re: Blocage de la lecture - Reading cannot process
Here is how to reset Audacity settings: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... html#reset .
Perhaps you just need to reboot the computer, especially if you have a USB playback device.

Re: LAME problem with Audacity 2.0.2 on Windows 7 (64 bit)
The first time: In the instructions above I was told to download Lame v3.99.3 for Windows.exe . But every time I attempted to download this file I got an error message. So I was using a different version 3.99.5 that doesn't self install. That version should have worked though. It is better to use t...

Re: Deleting the preferences file for audacity on the mac
Please see this post http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=225225#p225225 . Let us know the answers to those questions in your case and see if any suggestions in that topic help the problem. Since we don't know the exact three-section version number of Audacity that you have, I also suggest ...

Re: Audacity 2.0.5 release candidate 1 available for testing
Leland can record multi-channel loopback if he sets Recording Channels to the maximum channels. It fails for playback in the first place - it gives a device error. Changing the channels alters nothing. There are at the moment only 2 speakers connected though. However, the sound output works under W...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
I think you will find the device selection and recording corrected in 2.0.5. I don't think that correction will help the MP3 hangs or crashes. What are the Audacity "duplicates, ending with 0"? Do you mean these are files that Windows says are zero bytes in size? Are you overwriting previo...

Re: record, unplug mic, plug mic in, record, crash
So have you tried Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in 2.0.4? Can you try 2.0.5? What you are describing would not usually crash, but might give "error opening sound device" (I would expect a USB device might give that error if you pull it and reconnect it). You did not say what choices you...

Re: Changing track background color (NO THEMES!)
In my PC I'm using a hi-contrast color scheme. You know, all black with white text, a bit '80s style. I don't need to install no theme whatsoever. Every program just follows the OS color scheme. Audacity, though, does not. I mean; it does change the windows and the menus but the tracks themselves r...

Is that the manufacturer of the computer or the manufacturer of the motherboard?Alduin's Khajiit wrote:because I had Vista, upgraded to 7 when it came out, happens on both. both use same driver on Manufacturers website
Is that driver intended for both Windows Vista and Windows 7?
