Re: Buffer size
Is there a way of changing the audio buffer size in version 2.0.5? Or do I have to change the latency? See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_preferences.html . The "Latency correction" setting is for adjusting "recording latency" so the recording is laid down in the...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
Just a thought, but in my oild version of Audacity, I used to have to have a copy of LAME (the 'dll') actually in the folder where the recordings were being exported to. I don't suppose for a minute that I should do the same thing here???? Where is lame_enc.dll now? There is no harm in moving it to...

Re: Audacity Loop Bug?
Repeat won't work if using it would create 2 ^31 samples or more of total audio in the project, so about 13.5 hours at 44100 Hz project rate, about 12 hours 25 minutes at 48000 Hz, about 27 hours at 22050 Hz and so on. You must not save the project with that length of audio or more, or the project w...

Re: How do I split a voice recording (mp3) so I can email it
I finally recorded an mp3 file of a short work of creative nonfiction I wrote in response to a request from a literary magazine, which wants to post the mp3 file on their website as a podcast. The problem is I am not very technically savvy, and the file is over 25mg, and cannot be attached to an em...

As per the the pink notice at the top of the page, you can find the three-section version number at Help > About Audacity in the Audacity program.lyndalouvt wrote:I cannot be sure what version of Audacity I am using.

So what was the problem? If you say what it was, it may help someone else.

Re: recording from sound card
Thanks for looking into it yourself.
Ideally Windows WASAPI would have recorded for you even if you did not have stereo mix. Does WASAPI record now, if you quit Audacity, play your stream then start Audacity?

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
It could be VDownloader then? Yes it could be. It writes MP3 files. Try uninstalling it then rebooting. I think you'll have to experiment. I see no rational explanation other than a program conflict, corrupted RAM or a security conflict. And if you can consistently export OGG then the last two are ...

Re: Line in Won't Record in Stereo
Do the plugs on your cable that goes into the stereo jacks have only one ring? If so they are mono. Have you pushed the stereo adaptor firmly into the line in? If you are on Windows Vista or later, is the line-in set to stereo in Windows Sound? Right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, ...
