Re: Sliding Time Scale issues... Ubuntu 12.04, Audacity 2.0.
I was writing as Steve wrote, but I agree this is probably the 64-bit playback bug in Sliding Time Scale. Just to add - if you use the Ubuntu PPA "daily" build which is based on the latest Audacity code, be sure to uninstall Audacity 2.0.0 first (assuming you are using the Ubuntu 2.0.0 pac...

Re: 2.0.2 on Vista - Clicking black merge line crashes Audac
I was just interpreting what the poster may have done according to the screenshot.
All this is proof that unless the user lists every single action in order 1, 2, 3... that precede a crash, we may not be able to reproduce any problem at all.

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
It's hard to explain, but because it is a different MP3 and being created by a different method, although I am exporting to the same folder, the other MP3 files in there do not appear. I was surprised myself. I have yet to try and save a file with the same name as one already in there. I haven't da...

Re: 2.0.2 on Vista - Clicking black merge line crashes Audac
If you record or import then generate silence at zero (as I assume the poster does) or at the end of the track, a split line is produced. The poster says Crashing after clicking to remove the black lines occurs mostly after a session has lasted at least one-half to one hour; sometimes longer. So pre...

Re: Audacity crashes upon opening/importing MP3.
I'm having the same problem. Right-click on an MP3 file (about 3 minutes of music). Select "Open with Audacity". Audacity launches, and then nothing happens. With Audacity launched, try the same thing -- nothing happens. Using the "File Open" menu, try opening the file. Sometime...

Re: 2.0.2 on Vista - Clicking black merge line crashes Audac
you work for Audacity. No-one works for Audacity. We are all volunteers. The merge line appears when pasting audio from one wave form into another, or, as in the case of my screen shot, generating silence(1.2 seconds of it above) or noise. The split line appears in other ways too, such as explicitl...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
I can't see my list of MP3 files already there in the folder to overwrite them with the latest episodes I don't quite understand. You should be working in the same "Export File" window as you do when using lame_enc.dll to export. This is just a thought, but some time ago I disabled Java i...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
"The next time you go to export, FFmpeg will already be set up. You don't need to set it up each time, just check that "Custom FFmpeg Export" is selected and remember to add ".mp3" to the file name." I would like to try this, but should it not work at all, is it quite ...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3
I'd guess that most of the problems on this forum are not really Audacity problems. True. ;) But an average person skim reading this topic would probably think this was an Audacity crash bug, so I think it's important to point out that this isn't such. It's very unlikely the developers would want t...

Re: Audacity Loop Bug?
... until such time it may be worth considering a pop-up warning if the project length exceeds 2^31 samples (however the extreme length has been created). Perhaps though if you were copy/pasting to work around it as in this case the warning would get tiresome. What I had in mind was a pop-up warnin...
