Re: Alesis Multimix - how to disconnect the usb connection ?
I would have thought Windows "Safely Remove Hardware" would have made the Multimix safe to remove, however this Forum is for Audacity, not Alesis. ;) If the mixer needs an operating system shutdown in order to physically remove the mixer from the computer, hence they give you no system tra...

Re: NO SOUND AFTER RECORDING USING Win 8
You said before that the Windows 8 computer does not have line in. Do you mean you only have one input on that computer? Does the Win 7 computer have mic in and line in? As I asked, can you hear what you want to record on Windows 8? Have you been into Windows Sound and shown and enabled disabled inp...

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
My computer is Packard Bell EasyNote TK37 and has a 64 bit operating system. When I installed some software earlier on, it said updates were available for my current audio driver however I had to pay to install them. What software was that? I would not expect any computer manufacturer to charge for...

Re: NO SOUND AFTER RECORDING USING Win 8
On Win 8, can you hear the audio that you want to record in the computer speakers or headphones?
On Win 7, where is the cable coming from that you connect into the computer line-in then record from? From SL1?

Re: Full screen of waveform
You can measure the peak value in a selection using Effect > Amplify (take the negative of the "Amplification (dB)" value shown). You can export a text file of sample values using Sample Data Export . For the screenshot, use Tracks > Fit Vertically then Help > Screenshot Tools . You can ju...

Yes, Windows 8 still has a Desktop. Windows 8.1 even lets you boot straight into it without a third-party hack.kozikowski wrote:If you still have a desktop.

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
I'm not sure I should do this because my mic records in 44100 Hz and 16 bit so I think I should keep everything at this default sample rate, including the playback in the realtek speakers. According to this http://www.editorskeys.com/sl300-usb-studio-microphone-extras/ your mic records at 48000 Hz....

Re: Export as MP3 Creates Empty or Partial File
Evidently not many people have encountered this difficulty - a good FAQ addition perhaps? "If there's trouble with mp3 export check your disk space." All the formats except WAV and AIFF and other uncompressed are affected by having no warning of lack of disk space, as far as I know. I am ...
