Re: Audacity hangs or crashes due to no temp folder set.
Thanks Koz, Gale. Editing the audacity.cfg file directly did the trick. I installed and opened Audacity as myself, which has admin rights, so I don't know why Audacity couldn't update in /tmp (which was linked as /private/tmp), but I pointed it to my Desktop and so I'm good to go. Audacity should b...

Re: Export Multiple: Hide Metadata Editor after first file.
Is someone going to write a proposal for this - or even do the development :?: It already has a bug report (P3). The only person who has taken an interest in it so far is Joel, as far as I can see. I can probably get Leland interested in it but he has other priorities now in getting an FFmpeg updat...

Re: Need Help MP3 and FFmpeg Libraries
Try the instructions Alternative zip download for LAME 3.98.2 .
Do the same for FFmpeg if that is a problem: Alternative zip download for FFmpeg 0.6.2 .

Re: possible to recover audio after accidentally closing pro
No, if you answer "No" to "Save Changes?" when you meant "Yes", the data and the "autosave" file that pieces the data together are deleted. All you are left with is a thin chance that you could use data recovery software like Pandora to recover the autosave an...

Re: No Playback
Reboot the computer, especially if you are using a USB device for playback.
You can also reinstall Audacity and ensure you check (tick) the "Reset Preferences" option. There is almost no point reinstalling to fix problems unless you reset preferences.

Re: PITCH OF VOICE PROBLEM
If there is really a problem here and it is not the drivers then it is the actual electronics of the sound card chip embedded in the motherboard. Typically a chip like that would be mass-produced at a cost of a few dollars.bwywvgvc wrote:if it's no the drivers - no-one will know what it is

Andrew, when you have tested your program you might want to add a mention of it to http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Movie ... 28*.SRT%29 .
Thanks,

Re: how to save a recording process after timer recording
Actually there is a development philosophy that runs "commit the simple part now so we can build on it". I forget its name.
