Re: Audacity 2.0.3 output control malfunctioning

The developers made the design decision that its output slider would control the hardware directly, rather than be a software slider that scaled the current hardware level down (or up and down). They had two reasons 1) there is less background noise when turning the volume down 2) it's consistent wi...

Re: Random Distortion After Upgrade

It's indeed a weird issue. As I said, the only thing I can think of was that before, when I just did an upgrade, Audacity wasn't fully updated to 2.0.5. However now with the full install, I'm now at 2.0.5. But I'd figure there would be more people with this issue if so. Audacity is independent of t...

Yes I have now gathered the votes, and made a clarification edit to http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 56#p227456 .

Re: Audiogram 6 w/ Audacity?

Have you tried looking at the customer reviews on Amazon and other shopping sites? Almost no-one regularly reads the Forum every day except the helpers. None of the helpers have that device as far as I know. There are a few posts from Audiogram users on the Forum: http://tinyurl.com/mj6a2j6 . Have y...

Re: Odd Distortion occurring halfway through a recording

Also see this topic http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 37#p230837 . Can you paste in the Audacity "Audio Device Info", attach the "audacity.cfg" settings file as it is, then edit it down to "NewPrefsInitialized=1" as described there?

Re: Random Distortion After Upgrade

What make and model number is the mixer? Does it have a firmware upgrade for Mavericks? What microphone are you using? It's interesting that the problem only started with a full reinstall of Mavericks. Some people report non-audio issues with Mavericks like slowness and program crashes after an upgr...

Re: Behringer USB Audio Interface

if we are not to use Behringer's ASIO drivers, what should we be using? Don't use any special drivers. If you plug in the Behringer without any special drivers it should use the standard Windows USB Audio Class drivers that are on the system. Those drivers just won't give you the low latency that A...

Re: Change Speed is now useless for retuning to A=432 Hz

Thanks for the report. Nothing has changed, at least since Audacity 2.0.0. I assume you have chosen to run Windows in a language that uses comma as decimal separator, like German or French. In that case type "-1,818" (without quotes) in Change Speed then you will get the correct speed chan...

Re: Freezes - Critical Nyquist files not found

1. Drag Audacity.app from /Applications/Audacity into /Applications 2. Open Audacity.app While I can reproduce the hang and "Critical Nyquist files..." message using that method in Audacity 2.0.5, I cannot reproduce it in the current 2.0.6-alpha (whether audacity.cfg is empty except for &...
