Re: Will not record USB speakers in Windows 7
I did install Audacity 2.0.5 earlier this month on another computer my mom uses that is respectively identical (less memory) to this one I use, and found to have the same results. I have to have the speakers plugged in and have to set RDHA as Default Communication Device & set it as Default dev...

Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
I've decided I much prefer Audacity to Garage band. Audacity's more intuitive. So I want revert to Audacity with my new sound card. But has the mapping problem been solved? There has been no more work on this recently. Of course if you compile Audacity you can try the patch yourself. If the patch n...

Re: Converting Linear PCM 24 bit 48 kHz recordings?
I don't understand why the file is called "sinewave-raw-8bit-unsigned-pcm.wav" when it is a signed file.
As I understand it, WAV cannot encode signed 8-bit PCM, so it seems a strange choice to record in, as is recording with reduced dynamic range.

Re: have old 45 record
Am not to sure what to do, do I type that in or find it somewhere ? Koz You should have a computer mouse. Take it in your hand and click on "File" top left of the Audacity screen. This opens the File menu. Now move your mouse down the File menu and click on "Export...". Choose t...

Re: Trim Silence
My problem is that the "Trim Silence" is not in the plugin list when I click "File" -> "Edit Chain" -> "Insert". The first post in this topic says This effect is supported in Chains in Audacity 2.0.1 and later. You can get the latest Audacity 2.0.5 from here:...

Re: May I record several (>20) voicemail at once?
More specifically, I'd use Audacity to connect my iPhone directly to my PC, per CNET's video tutorial touting and highly recommending Audacity. If you mean http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57449803-285/transfer-memorable-voice-mails-to-your-computer-with-a-simple-audio-trick/ , please note there...

I mean that DMG's are mounted as a device. You can eject the DMG bottom left of the Finder window. You cannot trash the DMG unless you eject it.mary86004mary wrote:What do you mean when you say eject the dmg? Does that mean drag it to the trash. I see it in my downloads folder.
