Re: Error Initializing Audio
============================== Default capture device number: -1 Default playback device number: -1 No devices found The strange thing is I could actually listen to the playback off my computer's speaker, and record it with window's 'sound recorder', which essentially means there are no problems wi...

Re: Reverb: Audacity Manual/Code mis-match
I have just downloaded Audacity 2.0.5 and installed it on my Windows 7 system. I was previously using 2.0.2. I wanted to investigate the new Reverb effect. I loaded a WAV file, applied the Church Hall preset for Reverb and then tried to follow the manual which states: "Pressing "Dry Previ...

Re: soundflower kernel extension
Thanks for pursuing this Gale. 2.0.2 doesn't stutter (as stated in the original post). I have downloaded 2.0.3 which is also ok. I have downloaded 2.0.4 which stutters so it looks like the problem came in version 2.0.4. 2.0.4 and 2.0.5 do not stutter if the output is directed in Audacity using the ...

Re: Ubuntu 13.10 64bit playback problem
where it's supposed to crash it instead gave me an error saying that the section could not be played, unless I set a different position to play from. Could you tell us the exact error message? That may give an indication of what the problem is. I can't be sure, but it said something along the lines...

Re: Can Audicity help to sync AVI V and A with VLC Media Pla
I don't see how playing Audacity and VLC at the same time is going to help. There are 34 votes for an Audacity feature to "Import/play video for synchronised soundtrack editing". The idea is not that Audacity would edit the video, just that there would be a video window in Audacity that w...

And in Audacity Recording Preferences? Is it still increased to 1000?uhesltj wrote:Buffer setting in the M-Audio control panel is 256; the default.
Do you have Transport > Software Playthrough on? That means the buffer setting has no effect.

Re: Choppiness and Skips appear at 6:45:47 in Long Recording
I've monitored the output of the soundcard during recording. No chops ever appear there, but only during playback of the recording. However, the chops DO NOT appear in the waveform display before exporting; they're only heard. They remain present when I exit Audacity and start a fresh instance, and...

I hadn't been on the site for about ten days so I didn't realize that you had left such a detailed response. Are you subscribed to this topic, that is, can you see "Unsubscribe topic" at the bottom left of this page? If so, you should have got an e-mail from the Forum when someone replied...

Re: converting cassette tape to CD
You seem to have missed this: We do not have the resources to provide telephone, voip or personal e-mails support. As your problem is with Windows Media Player then you may be able to talk to Microsoft on the telephone. Make sure you drag the WAV file into a playlist in Windows Media Player before y...
