Re: Audacity 2.0.5 compilation fails on Debian Squeeze
When you planning to add support for newer versions of ffmpeg, at least that one which is in debian-multimedia repo for wheezy? When volunteers have time to upgrade, or we could take another route and export/import using the FFmpeg compiled binary instead of loading version-specific dynamic librari...

Re: Sound Settings
You can undo/redo and view project actions at View > History... while the project is open, even if you have saved it. The Undo History is not saved in the AUP project file or anywhere else so once the project is closed there is no access to the history. If you would like to request a feature for Aud...

Re: Audacity crashes on Equalization effect
I am running OpenSyse 13.1. Audacity works fine. Except for the equalizer effect. Whenever I open it, it crashes. And I really need some radio like walky-talky sound. I use the opensyse repo version (64 bit) and also tried with packman repos, both do not work. This is the error message I get: Expre...

Re: All I need to do is burn my cassettes to CD's
I could not figure out how on earth to get Audacity to separate the CD into separate tracks . See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks.html . Can anyone tell me how this works ? Same answer - http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/splitting_a_recording_into_...

Re: Limit Export options to just WAV
Ed (user Edgar) has written a customised version of Audacity that has some specific export options such as Export PCM but it doesn't mean you can export without making a decision as to file names. Even the PCM export still has options to export as OGG, MP3 and other formats so maybe I am not looking...

Re: Autoplay via URL?
I'm using Audacity 2.0.5. Is there a way to access a media file via URL and have it startup Audacity and immediately start playing it? Audacity cannot import audio that is being streamed from URL's for example as you might do by executing a shortcut to a PLS playlist file in Explorer. Most modern b...

Re: Timeline not moving on record
Thanx Gale. Problem turned out to be I had selected two different devices for record and playback. I have available WsAudioDevice_3835 and Conexand SmartAudio HD, and I had selected one in playback and the other in record. I think those WsAudioDevices are not physical devices but "virtual"...

Done, thanks.avz10 wrote:I fully agree, so you can add my vote. The idea is not that Audacity would edit the video, just that there would be a video window in Audacity that was synchronised with the audio (or Audacity could call/control VLC).

Re: Internal microphone
Please try restarting the computer. When recording computer used to work, what input device did you choose in Audacity? Is that input device visible now in Device Toolbar ? If not, try enabling that device in Windows using these instructions: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#vi...

Re: CHOICE OF MANUFACTURERS FOR NEW DESKTOP COMPUTER
It was not clear if "Beats Audio" has to be disabled or if the USB audio card takes care of the "Beats" problem? The computer salesperson also demonstrated that "Beats Audio" can be disabled on this particular HP model. He suggested that the computer may then provide a...
