Re: windows 7 need serious help
I have totally screwed my computer up. I installed the cassette usb hardware, taped a cassette with success, however the media could not play it back. If you mean Windows Media Player, just unplug the USB device from the computer then your computer will have sound again. Click this link with your m...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
Wiki Feature Requests has Invalid sample rate dialogue: Add checkbox "Apply this rate to any remaining conflicts" (checkbox state is stored in .cfg) and/or add checkbox linked to Warnings Preferences "Don't warn again and always use highest rate". (5 votes) Do you want to add yo...

Re: Trace Envelope
So that and this should have been picked up as a feature request vote. Unless that user completed his plug-in and is happy with it, or was happy to use the Nyquist scripts in the Nyquist Prompt effect, or lost interest in the feature, or completed the initial task and had no further need for the ef...

Re: No Playback on MacBook (loud click instead)
I've updated the Wiki page http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Building_On_Mac . The whole process on that page depends on linking Xcode 3.2.6 with later Xcode. This is OK when updating to Mavericks from earlier OS X as I did, because you can install Xcode 3.2.6 on Mountain Lion or earlier. I really ...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
When using the export multiple function after I have ripped an album that I have recorded at 96kHz saving to flac works fine. When you go save as MP3 it prompts you for the Resample rate. That part I am fine with BUT since i am exporting multiple tracks there should be a checkbox or something that ...

Re: Export Multiple Issue with MP3/Project Rate
When you get close to the maximum frequency a given sample rate can represent (the "Nyquist frequency") you can regard that as very inaccurate: sshot-8.png Also, try generating a 3800 Hz sine tone at 22050 Hz (well below the Nyquist frequency) and then a 3800 Hz tone at 384000 Hz underneat...

I was sitting on two votes for this so there are now four votes recorded on the Wiki.

Re: Editing
The only way I know of to record twice on the same track is Append Record (Shift-R) and that only works at the end of the show. There is also a crude work around if you are adamant you want to record on the same track, replacing something in the middle of the track, and you have adequate silence ei...

Re: Audacity adding blank sound to file
I am using Windows XP with 2.0 and everytime I export a wav file audacity adds 9 seconds of silent sound to the file. For radio spots this is frustrating. I cut out the extra and export again and it won't work unless I export it with a different file name. Is there some setting to change since it n...

Re: Audacity crashes on Equalization effect
I have done that. The equalizer effect works. BUT I don't have any devices anymore. So I can't playback or record. If I go to settings, I cannot select the correct soundcard. Audacity doesn't remove your sound devices. What do you mean by "settings"? Are you saying you go into Audacity De...
