Re: Live USB key: external record
Windows is the "simplistic solution" but I want to avoid it as far as possible because it is untrustworthy (bugs, heavy resources consuming, virus, worms, spyware, malware...). Thanks for your opinions, but I don't accept them for one. Recent Ubuntu is almost unusably slow on my netbook, ...

Re: Help, newbie here
Note that you cannot record stereo mix if you are using a USB playback device or if the audio you want to record is turned down or muted. Have you tried setting the "Host" in Audacity Device Toolbar to Windows WASAPI, then choose the (loopback) input for whichever of Speakers or Headphones...

Re: Pulsating click becomes rhythmic stutter
I just remembered that I wasn't actually monitoring the recording. I "checked in" to listen on a different device. That's how I knew the transmission was clear. If I had been monitoring I might have known the recording wasn't good. My bad. It still might be useful to know the sample numbe...

Re: Audacity & Slate FG-X/VCC
I know it is not realtime, but shouldn't plugin meters react when preview is generated? I've don't personally recall any plug-in with a live meter that responds to Audacity preview. At least they are with other plugins. Are you saying that meters in Slate VTM definitely respond to Audacity preview?...

Re: Audacity as EQ processor .
I'll count another vote that Audacity should have real-time effects. But the fact that Audacity is cross-platform isn't I believe a cause of us lacking real-time effects.

Re: I Movie audio
Try fixing the noise in iMovie if it's not too bad ( see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CxLDY2gKbg ) . If it helps, see http://multimedia.journalism.berkeley.edu/tutorials/imovie/separating/ for how you can exhange audio in iMovie. Install FFmpeg by following these instructions http://manual.audaci...

Re: Won't record to USB
Audacity does not automatically update its device list if you add a device after starting Audacity.
Please try restarting Audacity or try Transport > Rescan Audio Devices from the Audacity menu at the top of the screen.
