If the mono track actually says "Mono" above the Mute/Solo buttons there is no need to make it stereo as long as you already have a stereo track. It will already play through left and right channels and be mixed into both channels when you export.

Re: Mp3 file truncates when opened
Please upload the file to dropbox or http://www.sendspace.com/ then give us the web address to download it.
But most likely the file has corrupt length indications.

Re: Can't Export at Desired Rate
I've installed Audacity 2.0.5 and the LAME plugin on a 64-bit Win7 laptop. Strictly, LAME is a library . I can't seem to export MP3s at 32,000 Hz; even when I choose that rate from the drop-down menu in the lower left, when I attempt to Export it, it always saves it at 128K samples per second. The ...

Re: How to align multiple tracks to the right
Perhaps at some stage we should review the design goals of the Align commands. Or, you could add the two new functions. In Audacity 2.0.6 alpha, "Tracks > Align Tracks", the first two options move tracks independently of each other. The other 5 commands (below the divider) move all select...

New "Tools" Menu
Split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=232245#p232245 . I support having a "Tools" Menu, but you don't seem to be persuading the developers. Nyquist Workbench should be in the "Tools" menu but there should be at least three released items in that menu to justify...

Re: Cannot open Audacity after clicking on the Nyquist optio
The only way I can repeat this freeze in 2.0.5 is to drag Audacity.app out of its "Audacity" folder. If you did that, put Audacity.app back. That was the problem. I had taken the app out of the folder but left it in Applications. That was only a guess as we found out recently that some us...

Re: Wave image small, sound inaudible
I'm having exactly the same problem (and have tried all the suggestions you apparently tried) What problem is that, with steps 1, 2, 3... to reproduce it? Have you got any further? I can record as loudly in Soundflower as the volume the audio is. Open "Sound" in the System Preferences, cl...

Re: recording/playback problem
Have you followed the instructions to turn off enhancements? This is separate from the Communications tab. Where are you playing the file that has the song? The best place to play the file is in Audacity. Then set Transport > Overdub on so that it is ticked, and set the Device Toolbar input to the m...

Re: Lost Audacity Project
You can still catch your machine between 1:00 am defrags and have problems, particularly if you have a full drive and it takes Windows a while to straighten it out. That's also assuming your machine is alive at 1:00 am. If you keep your machine active all day and shut it down when you go to bed the...
