Re: Using Gsnap to correct the pitch
I get the same issue with GSnap, irrespective of attack time. Whatever the sample rate, 10 milliseconds of silent audio are inserted at the start of the processed selection, and 10 milliseconds of the selection are removed at the end. I have not tried GSnap in other hosts but I think the issue is p...

Re: Best way to deal with large files?
The limit is per track. So you could import the WAV's into a single project. Each WAV will be in its own track. Assuming the tracks are 44100 Hz, then you could join the tracks end to end up to a maximum of 13.5 hours per track. Or just time shift each track to start after the previous one, in whic...

Re: Unable To Record With New Microphone
Exactly what version of Audacity and Windows do you have? Please see the pink box at the top of this page. Are you using a USB hub with other devices connected to the hub? If so connect to a spare port. Try a different USB port. Are you sure the USB ports are USB 2.0 or higher ( http://bluemic.com/s...

Re: Problems with installing VST and AU plugins
Audacity already has Effect > Reverb (based on the original Freeverb). After downloading Freeverb3 VSTs, I attempted installing them in Audacity 2.0.5 by dragging the VSTs to the directory /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST, along with the .xml files that accompanied them. However, each time Audacity scans...

Re: Audacity 2.0.5 unresponsive in Mavericks
You don't need modules unless you are a software developer. The module won't load unless you have compiled Audacity and the module on the same day. In the "Audacity" folder, open the "Modules" folder to check that you have no files or plug-ins in there you want to keep. Then havi...

Inglese: This is an English Forum. Please write questions in English. If you want to record only one Alesis input, connect to the left input only and set Audacity to record in mono in Device Toolbar . If you want to record both Alesis inputs, set Audacity to record in stereo. On Windows Vista and la...

Re: Add Label at Playback Section is not accessible on 2.0.5
Try reading this: Splitting a recording into separate tracks - Audacity Manual . The menu item in Tracks > Add Label at Playback Position is greyed if you are not playing or recording. In that case click where you want to add the label, then use Tracks > Add Label at Selection. It is easier to use i...

Re: Latency Problems
Obviously use as few other programs as possible. If you are running a complex security suite that is constantly running behaviour checks and scanning files, or some other resource intensive program that is always doing something, this could make latency variability worse. If you always sleep or hibe...

Re: Searching the online Manual
Thanks very much for this. So it was in the manual after all. My apologies. I've now discovered how to do a better search of the manual by using the online version (rather than the downloaded version) and then using the Google search facility there, e.g. looking for "delete project". The ...
