Re: How to change audio (voice) pitch without distortion
You can also try a modest amount of Equalization along with a more modest Pitch Change. Some people say Rovee VST is quite effective: http://www.g200kg.com/en/software/rovee.html . Here is how to install VST plug-ins: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#vst_instal...

Re: Automate Editing
If a download or recording was allowed, can't the user do what they want with it for their own use (that is, if they don't republish it)? I think the official advice has to be "read the terms and conditions, and if in doubt, don't do it or seek advice from a legal professional". Yes, but ...

Re: New User Needs Guidance
I am using Windows 7 Enterprise, I am using Audacity 2.0.0. I obtained the .exe installer. Please upgrade to the latest 2.0.5 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . The older 2.0.0 is only needed for Windows 98 or ME. I have a Mono audio recording that I have been trying to clean up for a ...

Re: recording is randomly interrupted
Speakers attach with separate and skinned wires attached with open and closed clips but not screws. Attached where - to the tape deck? What playback (output) device have you chosen in Audacity Device Toolbar ? On subsequent attempts to record, again the silent spots are random compared to the first...

Re: Automate Editing
Why so, if user is prepared just to delete those sections, and was forced to figure out and enter the correct selection ranges themselves? It's about customising settings to work for specific audio streams. We already have a number of general tools (such as Silence Finder and Regular Interval Label...

Re: audacity performance with different soundcards
This issue is not do with Audacity. It doesn't pre-process the signal with audio effects. If the machine is still under warranty, complain to Toshiba. There is a small chance they will pay for a USB sound card. You can search Google or Bing for recommendations. Read the reviews on the shopping site....

Re: AVS Media Demo voice overrides Audacity recording
Thanks, Robert2. So yes, if the songs you are playing were converted, recorded or processed by AVS, you are stuck with the "audio watermark". You were already told this in one of the replies from our [email protected] address.

Re: Recordings on playback choppy, skipping
I am having the same problem - choppy playback on Audacity 2.0.5. I use a Mac Pro and the OS X 10.9.1. As far as I can tell there may be a specific problem with Mac Pro and Mavericks. It doesn't show up with Mavericks and Mac Mini. I don't know what to set the buffer to. If the problem is the speci...

Re: Automate Editing
as far as I know there is no Nyquist plug-in that deletes multiple arbitrary selections (as opposed to a specified selection at the start and the end of a track). Steve would know better if such a plug-in has been written or tested yet. It would be possible for some on-line radio streams, to automa...

Re: Problems with installing VST and AU plugins
Are you still using an Intel Mac right now? Autotune only supports Intel Mac and has specific Mac OS X version requirements . It looks like you may need OS X 10.6.8 or later. Alternatively you can try AutoTalent which appears to be a Universal Binary (so runs on PPC or Intel Macs). Please state you...
