Re: Recovering part of an audio track!
Do you mean you opened the AUP file in Notepad and deleted lines in error? You should not open the AUP file directly. You can't recover the previous content unless you have System Restore turned on for the drive and there happens to be a restore point for the previous state of the file. To check, ri...

Re: recording not working after upgrade to windows 7
USB audio inputs are typically "hotter" on Vista and later than on previous Windows.
You can try configuring the USB input level using "Speech Recognition" but I am a little sceptical that helps.

Re: How to change audio (voice) pitch without distortion
We're saying this isn't an automatic process. The best tools that change the voice formants when changing the voice cost serious money.

Re: Detecting the tuning frequency?
That's a very interesting application - the first one I've seen myself that attempts tonality detection. According to that page, a few applications like Audio Mixcraft 3 have licensed the app. How that? That's a rather common feature for all automatic transcription tools, e.g. Audio to Midi in Band...

Re: Recordings on playback choppy, skipping
When playing audio, the buffer is a chunk of audio data waiting for the computer to send it to the sound card's output. If the sound card finishes playing the buffer before the computer sends it another chunk of data, you'll get gaps in the playback. So generally, the lower the buffer, the faster th...

Re: Remove audio from track
So would it be possible to write a plugin that would, e.g., open a sound file and find where that file starts in the audio track? All files imported by Audacity import with the start of the audio data at zero, whether that data is silence or quiet noise. Are you looking for where the song starts, a...

Re: looping without playing entire clip or file
I can't figure out how to listen to just the loop transition from say a couple of seconds before the end to a couple of seconds after the beginning. Whenever I use loop playback, I have to play the whole entire clip or file You need to drag select the region you want to loop - putting the cursor th...

Re: MP3 files exporting as 127kbps when selecting 128kbps
I did not have this problem before I upgraded to 2.0.5 What else did you change - the version of LAME or the version of iTunes or the version of OS X? I am doing voiceover recordings (single track, no music) and the specs require the MP3 files to indicate 128 kbps What specs - a web site you have t...

Re: Detecting the tuning frequency?
I found some app exactly for what I am searching for(but there is no input for MP3 or FLAC), maybe it will help to explain myself for what I am searching in Audacity: http://www.zplane.de/index.php?page=description-tonart You are trying to detect the key signature or tonality. Audacity's Change Pit...

Re: Need Help Now
I am using an audiotechnica at2020 USB and I am wondering how to record that mic alon with the mic line in port on my laptop By "alon" do you mean "alone" or "along"? Assuming you mean "along" as in "at the same time", it's not a good idea. If you a...
