Re: WAV file export issue - newbie

Import the exported WAV back into Audacity. If it's silent that's what you need to correct - for example make sure the -....+ gain slider on the Track Control Panel is centred.

If the problem occurs in the CD player, are you sure it is working correctly?

pfeuh wrote:Can Audacity send one track per output if there is no more than 8 tracks in a project?
Audacity can export multi-channel audio files if you enable "Use custom mix" in Import / Export Preferences, but it can only play tracks mixed down to stereo.

Re: Converting MP3 - MID Help Please ??

Audacity can export to MIDI, but only from a MIDI file.

See here for tools that attempt to detect notes in audio recordings and convert them to MIDI:
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Midi#from_audio .

We can't help you use those tools and please don't expect perfect results with them.

Re: netbook

Than you, Gale Andrews! According to some Internet research I made, some recent netbooks do have those recommended characteristics... All of them will meet the minimum requirement for the version of Windows, which is the same as the Audacity minimum requirement. I think you will be lucky to find ne...

Re: recording is randomly interrupted

Please excuse my terminology regarding recorded silences. In retrospect, it seems it would be difficult to determine if a silence was recorded or if nothing was recorded. It's not difficult if you were recording from a loud tape then after recording you CTRL + 1 several times to zoom in on the reco...

Re: Novice seeking info on file compression

wonder if I'd have gone down quite that low on the BR but maybe so. You were convinced not, so exporting more audio than you thought you were exporting was the only other possible explanation. Yes if you have a single track, select some of it and CTRL + T to trim to just that selection, then File >...

What happens if you click in the Track Name, choose "Split Stereo Track", take the noise profile from the left channel then noise remove both channels? Or if you profile the left channel, noise remove the left channel, then profile the right channel and noise remove the right channel? Gale

Re: Can't download Audacity in English

Yes if you are running Windows with the Region and Format set to a country that has Spanish language, Audacity will show you Spanish.

Please see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... l#language for how to set language to English.

Re: Input volume is too loud after Win 7 & computer upgrade

USB 3.0 shouldn't make any difference. Windows Vista and later think of inputs primarily for voice recording. Having "hot" USB inputs that don't need a manual level boost (as microphones often require) may well be part of this philosophy. Try http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=2...
