Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

Wouldn't have a clue what the "Label placement value" is without looking at the Manual. Label Placement method: Number of labels Label Placement value: 10 Guess how many labels there will be. For a real user, they can try it and probably will not be surprised when it creates 10 labels. Ar...

Re: Automated editing

Thanks for the explanation of "Invert Labels". Export Multiple is under the File Menu. On opening it I see "Split files", "Name files", "Overwrite files". I wouldn't expect to find the feature you suggest there. "Split files ...", "Name files .....

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving

Under what circumstances is a dash mark not accepted? We use all three major operating systems at work plus whatever the clients use and have never had obvious troubles. Koz Steve also asked me, so I'll repeat myself. Strictly, I think hyphen (known as ASCII hyphen-minus or Unicode U+002D, close to...

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving

Audacity doesnt all you to use any punctuation marks in file names other than "-". Of course it does if it's a Windows legal character, though there are some exceptions due to Audacity bugs. It's better to stick to A to Z or a to z characters, whole numbers (0 to 9) and underscores ( _ ) ...

Re: Recording from DAT/no sound!

I just started using Audacity. I have a Sony DAT player that is being run from the headphone jack to the mike input on the front of my Windows 7 HP computer. That's pointless. Unless there is a mic hardware or software switch to convert the input to line level stereo, the mic input will be mono or ...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

I don't even understand the distinction between "labelled intervals fit the selection" and "labels fit the selection" in the most common case we don't have a final (extra) label. Forget about the "extra label", we don't need it. We may not need it in most cases or at a...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

Please provide a screenshot of case 1 and 2 I did. "Case 1" is the upper label track. "Case 2" is the lower label track. http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=9138 You didn't (or for region labels). The image above has two labels and a final label (under the meaning...

Re: Recording from a computer game

If you get Windows 7 then you should be able to record computer playback in Audacity using "Windows WASAPI (loopback)", even if the built-in sound device on that machine lacks stereo mix. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... ndows.html .

Re: Automated editing

I find it confusing that Export Multiple should only produce one file. The name is "Export Multiple" and it is "exporting multiple labelled regions or multiple tracks" . Export Multiple is under the File Menu. On opening it I see "Split files", "Name files", ...
