Re: Downloaded Audio Books
Further to Koz's suggestion, you could perhaps you record them overnight. Don't go over about 13.5 hours per track at 44100 Hz, or you won't be able to reopen them as Audacity projects. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips#Reopening_large_projects_in_Audacity_2.0.5_or_earlier ....

Re: Windows 7 and Audacity 2.0.5 Compatibility
Yes Audacity is compatible with Windows 7 or we would not advertise such on our download pages. Please read: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_7_OS and let us know if you have any questions. "Compatibile" still means that you may receive tunnel effects when recording due to Windows...

Re: looping without playing entire clip or file
I've noted your votes. When the cursor is not at time zero, votes are divided between those who want to loop the whole track starting from the cursor position, and those who want to loop between the cursor and the end of the track (as if there was a selection there). I guess it makes more sense to l...

Re: Automated editing
I think the idea is to ignore white space that separates clips when exporting (and so any white space before the first clip began would be ignored too). Right? So this is the same as the last "Export audio clips only" option of the suggested: Yes, "Export audio clips only" means...

Re: Automated editing
I also wonder if Ctrl-b couldn't have another functionality during playback, for example: - You start playback - you set the region start with the normal "Set (or Extend) Left Selection" key (don't know what it is on en English keyboard, I've assigned "L") - You press Ctrl-b to ...

Re: Automated editing
So when "Select All... if none" is off in Tracks Preferences, would "Export Regions..." require at least one of a selected region, a region label (selected or not), or a "space-separated clip" (see below)? As with "Export Multiple" I think that the menu item ...

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving
Have you deleted Audacity and reinstalled it? Control Panel > Add Remove Programs. When you reinstall Audacity it should arrive with a welcoming screen and completely absent any customization you had (take customizing notes). Reinstallation will only set Audacity preferences to factory defaults if ...

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving
The missing audio is the correct length, but, there appears a flat line in the sections of audio that "Disappears". I can watch the audio being created, and never see anything that would indicate something has happened. But, when i go to save it, a large portion of audio is now a flat lin...

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving
Correct me, but unless you go to extraordinary effort, there's only two characters on a keyboard that look anything like "-". Yes, and NUMPAD_SUBTRACT is the same hyphen-minus U+002D as the key close to Backspace. However you can paste into file name boxes. People would do that if they we...

Re: How do I transfer MiniDisc file to computer
I am using version 2.0.5 on a Windows 7/64-bit machine. Several years ago I transferred some MiniDisc files to my old computer, but forget how I did it using the older Audacity versions. I have connected the MiniDisc line-out with a twin male stereo lead to the computer's blue line-in, but how do I...
