Re: Project is open in another window
I could cope of course if I could find the window that is supposed to be open with the project. If you think there is a problem, for example Audacity says the project is open in another window and it isn't, please give us exact steps to reproduce the problem. Even if you saved the projects with the...

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME
What does Goldwave do if you enter "Song.shanty.mp3" as the file name and you export as an MP3 file? Goldwave "saves" MP3, not export ;) but it does the same as Audacity - the saved file is "Song.shanty.mp3". What does Goldwave do if you enter "Song.shanty.mp3&quo...

Re: Listening what I record with delay
You can force the computer to approximate this in software such as ASIO, but that's pretty painful as it involves reprogramming/recompiling Audacity. If you want to do that, see http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/ASIO_Audio_Interface . Note that on the safe assumption that the Realtek device does no...

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME
Users who want to use non-standard extensions should have to turn that on somewhere That would probably be difficult to implement and even more difficult to give sensible warnings about "unusual" but "legal" file extensions. I am not talking about Audacity making any decisions a...

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels
If they want to label regularly based on a label interval, why do they also want to specify the number of labels? I can think of several situations where a user may want X number of labels at intervals of Y seconds. It would be good to specify what those are. Are they feature requests to do with be...

Re: Listening what I record with delay
My old 2005 laptop has Windows XP, and I've not found "Listen to this device" option actually. Simply, you double-click the audio symbol in the notification taskbar, and a new control panel window appears. In that panel there's an option to select the volume of the microphone, from mute t...

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME
1. Don't save using the original name. There is nothing to stop you overwriting an original MP3 file if you want to. You must expect a program to warn you if you try to overwrite the original file. Every time you rewrite an MP3 you degrade the quality further. 2. Don't reuse the original name in an...

Re: Swedish characters
Audacity 2.0.5 does export all seven of its default metadata tags for WAV, but it is still the case that not all players will see these tags. iTunes does not accept WAV metadata at all. For WAV, 2.0.5 exports each tag in both ID3 format and LIST INFO format. Windows only reads the LIST INFO version....

Re: volume surge about twice per second
I altered the sound settings on my laptop to 48000Hz at 24 bit from the previous 44000Hz at 16 bit to record LPs and this removed the wrap causing surge. Possibly, but is this a pink mic port? If so it will probably either give you mono or poor quality phasey stereo, even if you can keep the natura...

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME
OK. After I have edited my MP3, I try to export it, using Export under File. I get a window telling me that not all applications open MP3. Please give the exact messages or attach an image of the message. My guess is that you put a dot (period) in the file name. If you put a dot in the file name, y...
