Re: Listening what I record with delay
Note that it is unlikely this will give you hardware playthrough but it is important that you always have the latest drivers. Yeah, I know, indeed, I have a newer version of the driver than that you say. That may not be a good thing, if Windows downloaded that driver of its own accord. You'd hope t...

Re: Remove folder
Thanks for the help and suggestions-- I turned shut my system down and when I brought it back on, POOF the file was gone. Now I would like to know why this happened It's quite simple. You can't delete a file if a program is using the file. However sometimes files can get locked by the computer proc...

Re: Remove folder
Your right it is a file and it is still on my desktop and cannot be removed-- I have tried everything I know to remove it. You will need to find out what application is using the file (for example perhaps you have it open in a text editor or in an old version of Audacity). If you you cannot remove ...

Re: Move message to correct thread
Thanks for contributing to the topic but I don't understand the relevance of your contribution to kingstonp at the point you submitted it. If you read the topic (between the lines) you'll see that on Mon Jan 13, 2014 at 11:58 am kingstonp had already been able to configure LAME so they could export....

When I display all devices (incl deactivated and not plugged in), there are two outpout devices: -Speaker/Headphones (standard device) -Realtek HD Audio 2nd output (this is what windows wants to use when I plugged in the ...

Re: Audacity 2.x and LAME
Apparently there are 2 subjects with the same name. The Forum Staff had a little discussion here about how to prevent the poster's problem with "dots in the file name" happening so often. It was probably just about worth discussing it here in case a user had any immediate input on what sh...

Re: Random Distortion After Upgrade
I'm going to stick with 2.0.3 since it's now working. Just thought I'd post here my results. Thanks, the clicks are clearly in the recording so it is not a playback issue. The only suggestion that has subsequently come up is to try a different buffer setting in Audacity Recording Preferences . This...
Re: Effects
I've never used chains. I clicked on it and there were two choices:clean speech and mp3 conversion. Not sure what to do w these, All I want, is for my voice to keep the same effects on succeeding clips in the same track. If you click the link http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/chains_for_batch_pr...

Re: Tried all suggested fixes. Still can't record in stereo.
I am on Windows 7, using Audacity 2.0.3, downloaded via .exe. Current Audacity is 2.0.5: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . I have double-checked that all USB and wire connections were seated correctly. I have tried changing the format of the USB device from 24 to 16 bit. Where did you chan...
