Re: Recording analog sources with a combined audio jack (win
Plug in your cable, right-click over Speakers/Headphones in Windows "Sound" and make it default device. Then unplug the cable. Hopefully Windows will then remember that Speakers/Headphones is default next time you plug-in. Yes it does. But I really don't quite get how this is supposed to ...

Re: Duplication when recording additional track
I have a Windows Sound Recorder but when it is activated I cannot record in Audacity. Do you mean by "activated" that it is recording? As long as you choose MME host in Audacity then generally, you should be able to record a separate stream in Audacity and Sound Recorder at the same time....

Re: A more accessible way to set up latency correction
BUMP: can I just archive this thread - or is there an idea that can be expressed succinctly that I could transfer to Wiki>PFR with a link back to the archived thread. Advice please. There are three "features" to vote on: Polishing and Wiki-publishing Robert's plug-in to measure time diffe...

Re: Metronome count in to recording
You want: A real time Metronome like Sonar has. A count-in before recording starts like Sonar has. Tempo detection for audio tracks like Sonar has. Selectable Tempo like Sonar has. Indication of bars and beats like Sonar has. Quantizing to beats like Sonar has. Punch in recording like Sonar has. An...

Re: Listening what I record with delay
I knew it, I knew I was right, I knew this sound card should have NO freaking delay. :P [...] And 30 min ago, I've found a guy that said: -Although the option is not where every user would search when facing microphone issues, there's a slider for the mic of the input jack that is pure hardware. Yo...

Re: Listening what I record with delay
That may not be a good thing, if Windows downloaded that driver of its own accord. You'd hope that Lenovo would post the latest correct audio drivers... I know that not a newer driver means only improvements, but generally, the newer a driver it is better. So what's the problem of have a newer audi...

Re: Edit out an inappropriate word by recording another word
I have Audacity 2.0.5 and I am operating on a MAC OSX 10.8.4. My daughter and her friends want to lip synch and dance to Wannabe by The Spice Girls. The lyric is "if you want to be my lover". I want to edit out the word lover and replace it with the kids singing sweetheart instead on the ...

Re: Problem with WAV files
So, I recorded a cover of a song with Audacity. I saved it as an .AUP file (for a backup) and then I tried to save it as a .WAV file. When I opened up the WAV file to listen to it the next day, the audio had been shortened severely and all I heard was weird, squeaky sounds. What did I do wrong? The...
