Re: Can't export Mp3
Print dates like this: MyMusic20130809. Actually, dashes are "legal," so you could do it MyMusic2013-08-09. Anything except colon is a Mac-legal character - but Audacity has a few bugs that impose some extra character restrictions. Koz is talking about safety if you want to give the file ...

Re: Need Help Fixing Clipping
I have applied the high pass settings that you advise. They helped significantly in many place but never totally, always leaving some sort of softer click type noise behind. I have one place, so far, that must have been more severely clipped because I'm have trouble repairing it. Wonder if you have...

Re: uca202 input volume suddenly way too quiet
We're asking exactly which version of Windows you have - such as Vista or 8.1 - as per the pink panel at the top of this page. Your screenshot looks like Vista or later. The audio "enhancements" aren't a specific individual service in Windows as far as I know. Koz just means what I think y...

Re: A more accessible way to set up latency correction
Two interesting things I've stumbled upon using 2.0.6 alpha. Wasapi (loopback) seems still to have some problems. With both, Audio Buffer and Latency Correction set to zero, I get the following: - A sample sound (1 s) gets 44100 + 441 samples long. - There are 1395 zero-samples at the beginning Sim...

Re: Sudden stopping
Plugged directly into a USB2.0 port, and the cable is fine. Changing the cable with one from another dervice was the 1st thing I tried. Try rebooting the computer and shutting down as many other programs as you can when recording. Set project rate bottom left of Audacity to 44100 Hz. You could try ...

Re: SET UP FOR USB TURNTABLE
Windows Media Player does not have any sound. I checked the sound devices and it indicates that they are enabled and working properly. The mp3 I saved plays great on audacity, but will not play on the WMP, neither will any other mp3 or CD. Windows wrongly thinks the USB turntable is meant for playi...

Re: Multichannel wav file export is cut
FLAC is lossless but has a size limit of 2 GB on Windows Thanks Gale. I'd forgotten about that size limitation, though I believe the limitation only applies to encoding on Windows. We had a user a few years ago that produced a 4 GB Flac file on a Linux machine and confirmed that it played correctly...

Re: Configure Error Compiling Audacity 2.0.5
As far as I know, Audacity uses wxexpat rather than expat - but expat can't be disabled in configure. It looks like wxexpat is for Windows: http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Library_files_under_Windows, and is found in no RPM for Linux. Audacity does not use the expat library in lib-src in the Audacity sou...

Re: Cant open aup files
The AUP file and _data folder must be named the same, such as the file "song.aup" and the folder "song_data". The AUP file must go in the same folder that the _data folder of the same name is in. The AUP file must not be inside the _data folder. Please see http://manual.audacityt...

Re: How do I make splits in a track into a whole
Edit > Duplicate puts a copy of the selection in a new track underneath, so as you obviously weren't doing that, I guessed you were using Repeat. I didn't use 'effect/repeat', I copied and pasted varying amounts of the original because I didn't want totally exact duplicates. There are no (white) gap...
