Re: Upper length bar playback problem

The best option is the ctrl+click, you can select a very close section and works. But, you need 2 hands, so discarted. It also changes the cursor point which defeats part of the idea of clicking in the Timeline. The obvious workaround to me is to zoom in further. To me, the handles that appear when...

Re: Need help to create default tag

Have you read http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/metadata_editor.html ? You can't remove the seven default Audacity tag fields but if you leave their value empty, Audacity won't create those tags. You can add your own default fields underneath the seven Audacity fields, by pressing "Add"...

Re: How to "Export Multiple" just part of a track?

How can I perform an EXPORT MULTIPLE (Labels), but only on the portion of the stereo track that I want to export? Another way could be to have multiple label tracks with region labels and move the label tracks up and down in the project as required. Export only takes place for the uppermost label t...

Re: Unable to export resampled WAV at 8000 hz

on Windows you can try Media INFO. http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download Koz Make sure you get the version without installer as the installer is often reported to install malware even if you were careful enough to uncheck all the bundled toolbars when you install. Otherwise the program is safe...

Re: Can't Install Gsnap

I also installed the take ownership hack. I hope I don't get registry problems from this. Probably not. I don't get the administrator's warning now, just the continue prompt. Should I uninstall the ownership thing, or just leave it. I've had the administrator's prompt before when installing other p...

Re: Files are Mono when exported.

It's hard to see how you are getting that message unless all your unmuted tracks are mono, or unless you have only selected mono tracks and you used File > Export Selection. If you need more help could you please attach an image of a layout with stereo tracks that produces the warning about mono mix...

Re: A more accessible way to set up latency correction

Do you get noise at the start for WASAPI with real source like stereo mix or line-in? Hard to tell, my sound card has a terrible DC-offset of about -0.2. I can't judge if there's additional noise, apart from the faulty USB voltage. It seems that the actual Audio starts after 3697 samples, as oppose...

Re: Pass Through Sound

Ok, I used the latest 2.x from apt and that is not the latest stable it seems. I looked at Audacity website for a stable repository URL but could only get a repository for the latest unstable. Any idea if there is a stable version repository ? Audacity no longer has "stable" and "uns...

Re: Large sections of my project dissapears after saving

Or we could lobby Norton for a more sane default behaviour.

The Audacity default temporary directory isn't a system temp directory. Even if it's not totally unreasonable to delete files in %USERPROFILE%Local SettingsTemp , Norton should not delete them within an hour of creation.

Re: Easy way to advance the cursor

The editing cursor moves 1 px in response to LEFT arrow or RIGHT arrow when you are not playing or recording. So if you are zoomed in, it makes smaller time movements. Would you find it useful to have a shortcut that nudges the editing cursor by the same small amount irrespective of zoom level? It'...
