Re: inconsistency with import/export behavior

Clearly using the metadata from the last imported file is best, looking at it in isolation. Clearly naming by the name of the first imported file is best when saving Audacity projects, and it may generally be best for export, metadata issues aside. I don't see these points as "clearly" as...

Re: RIPING VINY Processing 24Bit 96KHz recording to CD-A / D

In theory there is no benefit to using sample rates greater than 44100 Hz. This article might be interesting for nachezman to read: http://xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-young.html . Some people still claim though that they hear subtly better sound recording and storing at 192000 Hz. Can we really be...

I don’t get ‘usb turntable but I do get ‘Digital audio ( S/pdif), which I assume is the turntable since it disappears when I disconnect the cable. Anyway, when I hit ‘Listen’ there is no improvement, whether ‘Software Playthr...

I'm glad you don't object to "proof-posting" - I can confirm you'll continue to wait for your posts to be approved (if they are approved).

@newsongrestaurant: Have you considered citing the points you are replying to, instead of quoting the entirety of the post, which everyone has to scroll past (relevant or not), then putting a reply at the bottom?

Re: Recorded audio is way too high pitched

Can you fix it with Effect > Change Speed (that is, the audio is too short) ?

Re: editing question

Many performers never stop or pause. They realize they made a goof, press (I think it's) Command-B to set a label, correct the music and continue on. Go back later to all the labels and patch the work. Each label will have the goof and the correction next to each other. If they are labelling the er...

Re: Downgraded back to 2.0.3, because playback on 2.0.5 crac

We hear this complaint quite a lot on Mac but can't reproduce it - perhaps because as far as I know we don't have Macbook Pro. Are you playing multiple tracks or one track? If multiple tracks, have you turned them down with the -....+ gain sliders so the combined volume doesn't distort? There is a r...
