Re: Audacity 2.0.5 edit save question
Yes, I would definitely support the Undo History being actionable--that is, the behavior should be as if the user never closed Audacity (or it never crashed). Correct me if I'm wrong, but storing the history as text alone (without capability of using it) seems like another matter/use-case entirely....

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing
when I playback the project for editing directly in Audacity there is no crackle Does the audio of all the tracks start at time zero (0 on the Timeline)? As for what Koz said, my only real workaround (which is still fairly practical) is to just composite all of my separated tracks and arrange them ...

Re: Set Starting Track Number for Export
Yes, I vote for adding the starting-number boxes. OK, thanks your vote will be added in due course. I only read enough to get the tapes recorded one side at a time before worrying about figuring out how I even wanted to edit them or how much or how I wanted to export them. That depends where you st...

Re: Can't control input level
yes, USB interface between Amp & Mac. Using Preferences/Sound and Audio MIDI setup: For the devices: 'USB Audio Codec' - all volume control greyed out as is the volume controller in Audacity. This is Apple's fault or decision, not Audacity's. If I change to a simple 'Line In' device (amp direct...

Re: Can't control input level
Mac doesn't normally support controlling the input level of USB devices. Do I take it you are using a USB interface to connect a standard turntable to? If you connect to the Mac's line-in yes you should be able to control the input level in Audacity Mixer Toolbar. Is the Mixer Toolbar input slider g...

Re: Need help now and will pay for it
Thanks for guessing that I would suggest a donation. ;) I missed that Steve had already suggested it. I looked at the "No Audio" as you mentioned and that wasn't it. If you tried playing in QuickTime and it didn't help, it could be just that the Mac thought the headphones were still connec...

Re: Need help now and will pay for it
All I had to do was plug the headphones back in. For some reason after that point I could take them out and put them in again as often as needed and everything worked fine. It could be the same issue. Audio is said to work until you use Audacity 2.0.4 or 2.0.5, but to make audio work again in Audac...

About VPN into user's machines - we don't. It isn't necessary unless the user is barely capable of using a computer. I will personally take over a user's machine to help them for a fee, but that's a private arrangement. I guessed you had a Macbook Pro. The "click - no audio" has been repor...

Re: Translation to Brazilian Portuguese (Version 2.0.5)...
I use Audacity 2.0.5 and I verified the translation in some menus (Brazilian Portuguese) are incorrect. I would like to correct it but the file pt_BR.po (https://audacity.googlecode.com/svn/audacity-src/trunk/locale/pt_BR.po) is in Version 1.3. Is it possible to correct this file version in the web...

Re: Non start program
Did you tick the box "Reset Preferences" half way through reinstallation? If not, try that. After you launch Audacity you will be asked to confirm reset of Preferences, say "Yes". Then you should see the Audacity logo, followed by an "Install VST Effects" dialogue which...
