Re: Monitoring from vinyls.
Settings now are: In the ‘Listen ‘ tab, have ‘Listen to this device’. I have selected Speakers (usb audio codec). Unless you actually have speakers for the computer that are connected to a USB port on the computer, "Playback through this device" on the "Listen" tab must be set t...

Re: Ran out of disk space while recording -attempting to rec
Okay I've tried renaming the .tmp file to .autosave and making sure the temp files are in the correct directory. I open audacity, it gives me the option to recover the project but then i get an error message: Error: not well formed (invalid token) at line 2826. You can open the renamed autosave fil...

If the problem (whatever it is) is fixed in 2.0.5, I suggest you use 2.0.5. We will not apply fixes to old versions of Audacity.

Re: recovering
Please see here for what happens if there is a crash and Audacity offers to recover projects: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recovery.html . From your log, there seem to be colons in file and folder names. I don't know if that happened because you used a forward slash and Audacity translated i...

Re: Permission to save
That's not Audacity's problem if it exported the file correctly.dreamers wrote:I tried saving to my own User folder, but it isn't cooperating with YouTube or Windows Movie Maker.
You'll need to explain in exact detail what you are trying to do with the exported file. What format did you save it in?

Re: Tracks merging or overwriting spontaneously !!!
Thanks for responding, Koz. Audacity 2.0.3, Window 7. Please update to latest 2.0.5: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . I import a main track from a Youtube mp4. I create new tracks under that from clips taken from it. How? Give us the exact commands you use to do that. The main clip at top...

Re: Ran out of disk space while recording -attempting to rec
Sorry i did mention that before: audacity doesnt present me with any messages when i restart with those temp files in place. Then when i close audacity, it says its cleaning the temp directory, and deletes the files! It's what it's programmed to do, because there is no autosave file from which to r...

Re: Ran out of disk space while recording -attempting to rec
This is what you would do if using the .tmp file in the AutoSave folder doesn't work out. So I've got 11 d folders, with au files in. These are d00, d01, d02, d03, d04, d05, d06, d07, d08, d09 and d0a. Good - that's the correct sequence of folder names. So I should make copies of 4 of these folders,...

Re: Ran out of disk space while recording -attempting to rec
I'm trying to use the audacity recovery tool, but if i select any of these folders, it says there are no audio files inside: audacity_temp, project31574 or e00. If I select d00 i just an message saying "errors occured. see the logfile ...audacity_recovery.exe.log" (which i cant find). You...
