Re: deleted .aup file

Try looking in the Recycle Bin. If not, please see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Crash_Recovery#Automatic_recovery_tools . This means you will have to do sorting and renaming of the AU files in the _data folder, then use the 1.2 Recovery Utility to make a new WAV file or files, then ...

If you want to vote for more command-line options (without need to run Audacity scripting) please say what you are interested in.

Re: audacity command line access

Audacity only has limited command-line support. The only current command-line functions are that you can open audio files or Audacity project files (including multiple files) by passing them as arguments, for example: $ audacity file1.aiff file2.wav file3.ogg The following options are also supported...

Re: Audacity freezes and goes "Not Responding" with every ed

I don't understand "minimises the windows", but if you are selecting using the keyboard or Selection Toolbar this may be very slow. That will be fixed in the next 2.0.6 version when released. Where is your temporary directory (Edit > Preferences, choose Directories on the left) and where a...

Re: Bit Rate

I've forgotten how to change the bit rate on a given project. Audacity 2.0.3 Windows 8 If you mean for MP3 export, in the Export window, choose "MP3 Files" then click the "Options..." button bottom right of the dialogue. If you meant bit depth (32-bit float versus 16-bit or 24-b...

Re: Crash during recording from DAT source

The crashed thread appears to show that time stretch effects were being called during recording, which ought to be impossible.

In addition to Koz's question, were you manipulating any controls in Audacity while you were recording?

Re: Trouble setting up PC, choices are different

If you are trying to record from a USB tape deck or USB turntable, I suggest you follow our Manual, in case there are inaccuracies in what you're reading now. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_with_usb_turntables.html . I am having trouble following the manual that came with my 2.0...

Re: Crashing

Now need to know if i can compile a recording with the au files. If you are trying to reopen a project that was properly saved (no crash), open the AUP file and leave the AU files alone. If you still have a 1.2 version of Audacity that crashed before you saved a recording, and then launch 1.2, it w...

Re: CD from computer will not export in multiples

You can't drag an audio CD to Audacity (that appears to the computer to have tracks of 44 bytes each). If you have a data CD and drag files off the CD to Audacity they will import as separate Audacity tracks one above the other. If you want one exported file for each Audacity track then choose "...
