I changed your user name to "drdirk" so that spambots can't see your e-mail address.

To reply you will need to log in as "drdirk", using the same password you registered with.

Re: someone please help me???

Yes I did go through that wiki entry, several times infact, just to make sure I got it right. When I play a cd I bought from shop on windows media player, it plays fine, and even if I import an mp3 file from elsewhere into audacity, that also plays fine. But when I record in audacity, its the churc...

Re: Easy way to advance the cursor

I've come to the same conclusion as Robert J.H. that it was a mistake to not be able to move the editing cursor with the keyboard when playing. I find this much easier than using the mouse, and more important, much easier to react quickly. You can use CTRL + B to label the region or the editing curs...

Re: Moving from 1.2.6 to 2.0.5 questions.

Effects shortcuts were added in 2.0.1 and are still in 2.0.5: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Relea ... provements . Not all built-in effects have presets - most do not. I guess my reading of version histories should have been termed "wishfull thinking" Is "more effects should have...

Re: sound quieter after saving.

I have windows 7 and Audacity 2.x. Please always give the exact three-digit version number from Help > About Audacity. I recorded the music for a music video on Audacity. Then I put it together on Movie Maker. After I finished editing it, the sound was nice and loud. But when I saved it As what for...

Re: Snippets of sound while recording

I am using Audacity 2.0.5 I am attempting to record audio to my PC through my churches' PA system. The recording is successful, but I am hearing weird 'snippets' of sound while it is being recorded. I am monitoring the recording using hardware pass through, as i am using line in to record, and line...

Re: Best way to get peak amplitude?

If you need more than the one decimal place accuracy of looking in Effect > Amplify, there is now a plug-in for that script. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=75677 . There is no way to store or reload scripts across sessions using Nyquist Prompt. Do you want to vote for tha...

Re: Tweaks Needed for Remote Collaboration

I'm working with several colleagues doing audio mixing for podcasting, movies, etc. and ran into a problem: Audacity writes absolute links for external dependencies. Naturally, I could copy the files into the Audacity project data folder to compartmentalize the data, but that's inefficient. We're t...

Re: Installing Python2.6 to Windows 7 OS

Python is only required if you want to build the Manual. Audacity will run without the Manual. The developers are reluctant to handhold those compiling Audacity so it's unlikely you'll succeed unless you are prepared to search. Re: Moving from 1.2.6 to 2.0.5 questions.

When we had 1.3 Beta it was regarded as "unstable" and 1.2 was still the "stable" version, but with the release of 2.0.0, all 2.0.x versions are regarded as "stable". Koz meant that there will be program settings added and removed in 2.0.x. If you don't reset preference...
