If the included software lets you save a video with only audio, and you add FFmpeg to your computer, then you can drag the video file into Audacity and import the audio.

hours before We believe you. We're getting more and more reports of Win10 "forgetting" to write the AUP file. It's concerning. I agree it's a concern but is it really only Windows 10? I think we will have to track this as a "bug", albeit not reproducible. The number of reports o...

Re: Error: mismatched tag at line 154
I have just installed what I presume is the latest version of Audacity by putting the instruction - sudo apt-get install audacity in the Lubuntu terminal. If you have an older version of Lubuntu and used apt-get you will not have a recent version of Audacity. What do you see in About Audacity? We c...

Re: Chain problems
What I want is for it to take the file, shift the pitch up by 15% and save it in another folder. but its not doing it. Assuming you are using Audacity 2.1.2 or earlier (see the pink panel at the top of the page), a Chain involving Change Pitch will only work in that Audacity session in which you se...

What I want is for it to take the file, shift the pitch up by 15% and save it in another folder. but its not doing it. Note that Chains give you no control of the folder the processed files are exported to. The files will be in a "cleaned" folder inside the folder the original files are i...

Manual Recovery (at the bottom of that page) only works with a mono, not stereo recording. Not actually true if you have NTFS file system (almost certainly the case if the machine came with Windows 10) and you use xplorer2 Pro (free trial) to access the raw timestamps. See http://manual.audacitytea...

Re: Latency Correction error
Audacity 2.1.2 / Windows 10 I'm using a USB soundcard to record and It was working previously. I'm now getting the latency correction error. I've tried updating the driver on the soundcard and re-installing too. Any ideas please? I assume you are overdubbing, that recording has stalled, and you are...

Re: Please help with the library setup
The instructions are correct, I can assure you. Did you download the ZIP file of FFmpeg? If so, the contents (which are multiple dylib files) must be extracted from the zip, and then Audacity pointed specifically to libavformat.55.dylib. Pointing Audacity to the ZIP file, or only extracting libavfor...

I am able to press ok when I do not choose to enter any values. If it was appropriate, you could choose negative amplification and still press OK without enabling "Allow Clipping". When I did that 3 times in a row, the amplification was giving desired volume level and there was no clippin...
