I know chances of this are zero, but do you have any way to record the skipping? Cellphone Personal Recorder APP? Audacity can record itself using Soundflower ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_mac.html ) but it's possible that may cause extra stuttering....

So that begs the question, what's different in the memory management between 2.0.3 and 2.0.5? Nothing to my knowledge. If memory leaks are found, they are fixed. I know from other investigations that Mavericks has different management than other Macs There is some new "memory compression"...

If it's a new MacBook with only one audio port that is meant for headsets with four-position connectors, you don't - because even with an adaptor it's only suitable for microphone input.
