Re: Problems with Saffire Pro 14

I am thinking that due to the Saffire Pro 14 being a ASIO interface, might be incompatible with Audacity for recording but can't quite believe this is the case. Audacity does not ship with ASIO support - please see Does Audacity support low latency ASIO drivers? . Audacity may be usable if it can s...

Re: install manual locally

Download the EXE installer of Audacity from: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . In Audacity, Edit > Preferences, choose "Interface" on the left, then make sure "Location of Manual" is set to "Local". Use Help > Manual (in web browser) to open the Manual. You can...

Re: Editing a Single Track

I'm glad you figured it out. :) Sync-Lock Tracks is not on by default but it can be useful if you want to keep the audio tracks synchronised or to keep labels synchronised with the audio they relate to. You may at some stage want to use labels to export multiple files for each song on the album. For...

Re: Can I select stereo recording tracks from available trac

My computer is not MacBookPro but "MacPro". It might still be worth experimenting with "Audio to buffer" (look at any RME buffer settings too) and make sure sample rate and bit-depth are the same in Audacity Quality Preferences, in Apple Audio MIDI Setup and in any RME settings....

Re: Cannot Import Any Longer to Audacity 2.0.5

Yes, you should be able to write to an arbitrary folder in C: as a standard user, except for restricted directories like Windows and Program Files. In the "Security" tab of the folder's Properties, you have to click the "Edit" button then select the user to change, or add another...

Re: Custom Version of Audacity

Mark, the Forum is only for technical support so is not the best place to ask questions like this. It is better to write to our feedback address as you have done in the past. If you mean a version of Audacity that is unchanged except that you have added EditorsKeys branding, no we won't want to endo...

Re: How to splice together Mp3 tracks

Gale's suggestion about step 2 needed further attention. I repeated the steps, the lower track was highlighted, I clicked above the MUTE/SOLO button proceeded to "edit" same results. Then it hit me, on my second attempt I clicked just above the MUTE/ SOLO box. This was different, no menu ...

Re: Paste/mix

Duplicating as per vpd's solution would be what I would do if you are pasting in content from the same track. You can also press F2 on your keyboard to turn on Envelope Tool if you want to fade out the audio that is coming to an end and fade in the audio that is starting in a more customised way. Pa...

Re: Cannot Import Any Longer to Audacity 2.0.5

If you apply Registry edits you accept the risk of that. The Audacity log shows clearly that Windows is denying you access to C:UsersTonyAppDataLocalTempaudacity_temp . This causes the flat line where the audio should be. It presumably works importing the same file into a project because that projec...

Re: LAME

Please don't post the same topic twice. I deleted your duplicate post. If you read the Release Notes for 2.0.5 ( http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.0.5 ) it says at the top in the yellow box about Windows: Users upgrading to 2.0.x versions from 1.3.6 or earlier must download the lates...
