Re: Expanded Lossless Audio Support
Users of iTunes software who want to use a lossless format which allows the addition of metadata (unlike WAV/AIFF or other PCM-type formats, where metadata is usually ignored) have to use ALAC. iTunes supports AIFF metadata. Increasing numbers of programs support WAV metadata (either RIFF INFO, or ...

Re: Can't record streaming audio.
Please work through http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Errors#sound_device . Can you record from your microphone? If yes, it could be a specific setting with stereo mix in Windows "Sound". Have you tried Windows WASAPI host instead to record computer playback? See: Tutorial - Recording...

Re: Q
I also process with another plug-in for EQ (I like the KarmaFX 31 band EQ from this plug-in pack: http://karmafx.net/?id=1) and sometimes a light De-Esser too (depends on my narrator) If I want the de-Esser, I use the LISP version (http://sleepytimedsp.com/software/lisp/). Those don't work for me v...

Re: Downloading music from Youtube
I am disappointed that audacity cannot download tracks for youtube directly. [...] but thanks again for the other material. Just to be sure, do you understand the distinction I am making between download and record? Audacity can record audio in real time from your web browser on your Windows 8 syst...

Re: Do the Izotope RX 3 plugins work in Audacity? (YES!)
I should add that a "for life" Goldwave licence is now much more expensive than ClickRepair. On the other hand, ClickRepair and DeNoise have separate licenses for at total of $70. So if you want denoise ability, Goldwave at $59 which has declick and noise reduction ability is still cheape...

Re: Do the Izotope RX 3 plugins work in Audacity?
The ability to touch up something while in Audacity is a huge win via the plugins, I don't have to leave Audacity unless I want to batch process some things (which I do...) Don't you find the loss of the audio at the end of the selection a nuisance? What batch processing do you want to do? Audacity...

Re: Export of File and Export folder.
OK - I have not seen a patch associated with "Smart Folders" - but you're saying that if there was such, even it was got to compile on Mac and Linux, it might not work correctly? I think that Smart Folders should work on all three platforms but it is my understanding that Audacity uses cu...

Re: NVIDIA Sound Card Version 1.3.18.0 Not Compatible
Please don't download generic drivers from Realtek which are not matched with your motherboard. That will only make your problems worse. Uninstall Realtek, completely shut down the computer and restart it. If the "Microphone" shows in Windows "Sound" and Audacity sees that microp...

Re: Application will not start, Windows 8
This isn't any known Audacity problem. I would right-click over C:WindowsSysWOW64 > Properties, and look at the "Security" tab. Make sure all groups you are a member of have the "Allow" boxes checked. If the problem persists, reboot into the admin account, delete the build folder...

Re: Get same output levels on a large batch of mp3's
I want to make each song the same volume. For some reason I have one or two songs within my library that are either louder or quieter than some others, and can make you jump when a new song comes on and is much louder than the others.! So basically I want to batch the whole lot at once and make the...
