Audacity busts the music up into tiny chunks and cleverly juggles the chunks so there is always fresh music in memory at just exactly the right time ... Is there any source code/detailed explanations of this exact process? http://www.audacityt...

Re: problem with my first attempt recording audio

Then you don't want these backing tracks to play all combined together - correct? You want to export a separate file for each recorded backing track? If so, press Stop after recording each track. When you record each new track, it will be on a separate Audacity track. Use File > Export Multiple... c...

Re: Change Pitch plugin - Where, oh where art thou?

If you install Audacity 2.1.2 supplied by us ( http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows ) then Change Pitch is included, under the Effect Menu. You can't reuse it in other applications. It's a LADSPA effect compiled into the application and doesn't have a standalone DLL. If you really like Chang...

Re: Audacity not running after security update

Which version number of Audacity? Right-click or CTRL-click over Audacity.app, choose "Get Info" and look there for the number. If you don't have 2.1.2, use that version from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac . Is there any error message box when you try to launch Audacity? Is there...

Re: Audacity won't record through mic, stalling at 0

Well, try to get the USB mic recording into a clean empty project, no overdubbing, before you go further. What is the make and model number of the mic? Does it record if you set Audacity to record in stereo? Reinstalling Audacity makes no changes to it unless you enable the "Reset Preferences&q...

Re: Latency Correction error

So it is a USB mixer - and if not, how is it connected to the computer, exactly - to what port? Mixers do not usually have USB inputs. Or do you mean that the analogue outputs of the USB sound card are being fed into the mixer? What exactly are you trying to do? If the mixer is unbranded for example...

Re: Changing Sampling Rate for Dragon 15

Well I tried doing all the suggestions above: 1. I downloaded FFmpeg, which I did first. 2. I then tried to import the audio, but Audacity says it did not recognize the type of file try using import raw. You need to tell Audacity to use FFmpeg to import the file. Audacity will try the standard WAV ...
