Re: Problem recording mono

What player application is sending mono output, and what output and input devices have you chosen in Device Toolbar ? Or do you mean the output is stereo and you want to record it in mono? I can do that on my Windows 7 x64 machine using the built in IDT audio device and Windows WASAPI loopback. If y...

Re: Vinyl playthrough works sometimes; other times just beep

Just to state a couple of obvious things. Connect the turntable to a spare USB port, not into a USB hub connected to the computer. Change the USB cable, try another USB port. Try resetting Audacity preferences. Quit Audacity, open Finder, Go > Go to Folder and type: ~/Library/Application Support/aud...

Re: Breaking Down and Editing Tracks from a .m4a file

Did you say you saved the m4a file as multiple channel? What do you mean by this? I saved the Garageband file as a .m4a file. Then I converted that file into WAV to open it in Audacity, since Audacity wouldn't work with my .m4a file. Audacity opened it up as one mixed track. I do not have the origi...

Re: Newbie question

If you use MP3Splt you need to get the GTK version, unless you are comfortable typing out text at the command-line.

Re: Opening Audacity sets speaker output to 0

What was your first version of Audacity, or have you only used 2.0.5? What is the exact name of the output device in the second box of Device Toolbar ? What is the exact XPS number of the Dell? The most likely explanation is that you have bad (or incorrect) audio drivers for your built-in sound devi...

Re: removing howling from voice recording

iZotope RX3 Advanced (you can use it briefly as a free trial) has a "De-Reverb" effect. It is better used as a standalone program than as a plug-in in Audacity.

It works quite well on the first three words in your example.

The Effect Menu should still scroll to the bottom even if you cannot see all the contents. Click on the downward-pointing arrow at the bottom of the visible menu or press DOWN arrow on your computer keyboard.

Re: Regular Interval Region Labels

BUMP does this need transferring to Wiki > PFR - or maybe just archiving - or should it be kept "live" here ??? I'd like to see it kept live. I like the new control for length of region label and the bug fix, but I think the new behaviour will take some getting used to. I think the curren...
