Re: Recording a track and having it repeated over and over.

I got a message saying something about asking what windows and Audacity version I was using, so I re posted the question so that was made known. Yes, we ask that in the pink panel above, and it's helpful to add that information (Windows 8 and Audacity 2.0.5, you said). To add information to the top...

Re: Distortion effect

"Killeringer" is an extremely popular plug-in for Audacity (see YouTube). The name and control labels have little if any relation to what it does. There is no documentation for Killeringer. People, lots of people, are able to work out how to use it Because they already saw tutorials on Yo...

And please don't post the same topic twice. That is not fair on the people trying to help you. ;)

Re: Recording a track and having it repeated over and over.

You want nothing but silence between the Zumba's? Import the Zumba file. Press K on your keyboard to move cursor to end of the track. Generate > Silence of 1 minute 5 seconds or a little less. CTRL + A to select all. Effect > Repeat 30 times or however many gives you the length you want. Repeat show...

Re: Distortion effect

I have no personal interest in "distortion" as an effect, but as a general comment, the choices offered here do seem somewhat user-unfriendly, and don't bear much relation to the previously suggested choices. Overdrive Fuzz Tube distortion Walkie-Talkie Crunch Harmonic distortion Inharmoni...

Re: Recording bar blinking, not moving

Same thing on my PC. FAQ did not solve the problem. Found solution: reinstall Audacity 2.0.5. without additional plug-ins, usiing "reset settings" option. "Reset Preferences" may help - it will change the settings mentioned in the FAQ to shipped defaults. Removing "addition...

Re: Loss of all sound on Mac

I can get my turntable to work on other apps but not Audacity, which I prefer to use. Is this a USB turntable? If so, read Recording with USB turntables or USB cassette decks - Audacity Manual for the correct settings. If the problem is that you don't have playback sound in Audacity, try opening De...

Re: NVIDIA Sound Card Version 1.3.18.0 Not Compatible

Thanks for posting the XPS 400 manual, Robert. I agree Hypnotized should remove the "crappy" NVIDIA speakers from the blue line-in. It's an input, for sound coming in. Are the NVIDIA speakers surround sound? If you want to connect the NVIDIA speakers to test WASAPI recording with those spe...

Re: Help! Recording cuts on sustained notes!

Are you sure you have looked in the Windows Control Panel for the Conexant Control Panel? If you have the original Windows 8 (not Windows 8.1) you will have to click the Windows icon bottom left then find the Control Panel in the Start Screen, or move your mouse pointer top right to show the Search ...

Re: Auto Recovered file has flat line and no sound

From the looks of it, I probably will not be able to recover this project. I started from scratch with trying to recover the modified autosave file that you sent me How exactly did you try to recover the modified autosave file? and this time I received an error message in the log. The errors file s...
