Re: Recorded audio sounds slow

And, what browser or tool is playing the audio, and exactly how are you recording it in Audacity? Please post the information from Help > Audio Device Info... . Are the recorded tracks the same length irrespective of whether they play back correctly or too slow? Or is the slow track longer than it s...

Answering myself, Change Tempo and Sliding Time Scale's Tempo Change do seem to use (but not remember) the typed accuracy.

Re: How do I best sync tracks with different, unknown tempo?

In theory it should be easy. I know. One track is PAL other NTSC. so a tempo correction of 24/1.001 / 25 = 4.095904096..% gets me into a precision of a few seconds / 100minutes. But I need sync. Use the "Change Speed" effect. You know, I almost said that, but aren't the two (PAL and NTSC)...

Re: Recorded audio sounds slow

scottbomb did you ever figure out what the issue was? I have had this problem intermittantly. Now it seems to be permanently broken. Playbacks of recorded streams sound slow. Scottbomb is very unlikely to still be reading or following this. Please give us the required information to go on (see the ...

Re: How do I best sync tracks with different, unknown tempo?

Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift will be more accurate in giving the exact length from the exact percent change, but it will take a long time to process.

Perhaps you could do it in a couple of passes if the first pass in Time Scale still does not give you the exact length needed.

Re: Trim imported files by exact time point

Yes, use Selection Toolbar to select exact time regions. See this Tutorial: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tutorial_-_Editing_an_Existing_File . You would be better not to trim MP3's in Audacity because Audacity re-encodes the MP3. This means the file loses quality. Use a direct MP3 editor inste...

Re: Wonky all of a sudden

If the files recorded on iPad sound OK in Windows Media Player then presumably the "only" problem is with playback in Audacity. What playback device have you chosen in Device Toolbar ? Is that device the default playback device in Windows, which is what Windows Media Player will be using? ...

Re: Help with Recording Streaming Audio

Not all computers can be "adjusted" to self-record. Windows Vista and later computers (so including those on Windows 8) can always record computer playback using Audacity if you choose the Windows WASAPI host. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_...

Re: Project Save didn't copy one wav file

This last time an additional wav I used in the project was on the desktop but there was no option to copy it as I saved the project. That can only be because you have Projects Preferences set to "Do not copy" (and so not ask). The safest course is to set Import / Export Preferences to &qu...
