Re: Equalizer presets gone?
That solved the symptom. Nobody knows why the original file vanished. That's concerning. Operating files don't just vanish. Is your virus software up to date? Isn't there a Windows drive health check you can do? If there was no EQ*.xml file in Audacity's application data folder or the installation ...

Re: export (mp3) "remaining time" keeps going up!!!
It's a known bug that the export progress bar is incorrect if one track is much shorter than the other. See the 2.1.2 Release Notes . Ignore the time it shows you and the export will complete in reasonable time. Or Edit > Select > All and Tracks > Mix and Render, assuming you are exporting the finis...

Re: [Windows 10] WASAPI only works when line in is 44100
I am on Windows 10 using Audacity 2.1.2. I am using Audacity to listen to my USB turntable. I have the turn table set as a recording device and my output it through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Scarlett is set to 2 channel, 16 bit, 96000 Hz in Windows. That is the highest it goes. Line in from USB tur...

Re: [Windows 10] WASAPI only works when line in is 44100
No. It is widely documented that Windows MME host resamples everything to 44100 Hz, and though that might have been true once, it now seems not so.kozikowski wrote:Isn't there something about basic Windows services won't go over 44100?

Re: dividing a vinyl recording into "songs" for Itunes
If you provided labels at the beginning of each song, then it's File > Export Selected Audio . Not Export Audio. That should pay attention to the labels and make multiple files. Koz meant File > Export Multiple... . Export Selected Audio will only export one selection at a time, and you would need ...

Re: Equalizer presets gone?
I have version 2.0.2 Is there a reason you want such an old version? EQ curves have not been built into Audacity for many years now. They depend on an external file, the last fallback for which is EQDefaultCurves.xml which ships with Audacity in its installation folder. When you use Equalization, t...

Re: Extracting "name" from multiple mp3s.
It would be nice to be able to have all the "name" information from multiple audio files listed in some kind of document. I do my radio show with audacity (import multiple mp3s and sequence them) and it would be so convenient to not have to copy and paste every song name as I go. Can this...

Re: Editing Tools Not Working
I have downloaded the latest version. That could be the problem if you downloaded from anywhere other than us: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows . There are rogue versions of Audacity around. Are you sure you are selecting in the blue waves and not above the waves? Is the Track Control P...

Re: Latency Correction error
NME / Line 2 (USB) / 2 (Stereo recording channels) Your Audio Device Info said that the Microphone Array was selected as Audacity Recording Device, so please double check. You can try changing the host from MME to Windows DirectSound or Windows WASAPI, or try a different project rate (bottom left o...

Re: Change Pitch plugin - Where, oh where art thou?
Is this the way it is best done? All the controls are interlinked, but it is the Percentage Change that Audacity uses to produce the result. So if you ddon't need a specific key signature or frequency change, just adjust "Percentage Change" to suit. Just to reiterate that the length will ...
