Re: This sucks
Please choose a relevant topic title to help other users. You can use Transcription Toolbar to change playback speed. As it says there, and in the Release Notes you cannot change speed during playback. This is because doing so causes a freeze on Linux systems using PulseAudio. Move the slider first,...

Re: multitrack recording stop after 1:50 minutes
We can't help you with 1.3.12 because it's obsolete (please see the pink panel at the top of the page). Ubuntu 10.04 is also unsupported by Canonical if it's the Desktop version. Download the latest Ubuntu release then you can get a later Audacity version from their repository. The problem is probab...

Re: Recorded audio sounds slow
Are the recorded tracks the same length irrespective of whether they play back correctly or too slow? Or is the slow track longer than it should be for the length that you recorded? Slow track: One minute (1:00) of stream = approx. 1:06 Audacity recording When playback is correct: 1:00 = 1:00 OK so...

Re: Tracks shrink when clicking on them to edit
or add an effect. You know how tracks narrow their width horizontally the more there are? Do you mean they reduce their height? They only become less tall the more there are (and they only "jump back" after you drag them down then edit) if you have enabled "Automatically fit tracks v...

Re: No data files created for project
[I am using Windows XP, and Audacity 2.0.2] It is best to upgrade to the current 2.0.5 unless you have a reason to stay with 2.0.2: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . I had an Audacity project with several versions of some tracks (bass, drums, etc). I wanted to save some space, so deleted t...

1.3 Beta's were just that - Beta's. Bugs not unlike you describe came and were fixed and reappeared in a different variant. If you are not already doing so, you may subscribe here: http://audacityteam.org/#announce to receive an e-mail when we release new versions of Audacity. To subscribe, enter yo...

Re: Audacity on Mavericks OSX v10.9.1
I have been using Audacity with OSX Leopard and then Snow Leopard with no problem. I recently upgraded to Mavericks OSX. When I try to start Audacity I get a message that power PC applications are no longer supported. Is there a work around for this? Only ancient 1.2 versions had separate PPC and I...

Re: Request "mono" and "optimal output" on MP3 export screen
Having an "automatic" option that lets LAME reduce sample rate when bit rate is low and reduce bit rate when sample rate is low is not a bad idea, but users can already make these changes for themselves manually, or use Audacity's command-line exporter. If you want LAME to change the samp...
